Curtis "Curt" D. Winters, 61, of Orangeville, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Curt was born March 16, 1952 in Freeport the son of Charles and Marilyn (Winters) Meinzer. On May 19, 1978, Curtis married Norma J. Bardell in Freeport. Curt worked for 32 years at Kelly Springfield as a machinist. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, going for walks along his creek, collecting coins, playing Texas hold'em, the animals that Norma brought home, and following sports and politics. Surviving are his wife, Norma Winters of Orangeville; mother, Marilyn Winters of Freeport; daughter, Amy (Ben) Blum of Monroe; brother, Karl Winters of Freeport; three sisters, Judy Winters of Crestwood, IL., Margaret (Todd) Benoy of Sabula, Iowa, and Janet Winters of Freeport. Also surviving is one grandson Gabriel Blum of Monroe. Curt was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Keith.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday March 21, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Pastor Julie Bunt will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Burke Tubbs. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Curt's memory.
