Clarence T. Steiner, age 89 of Monroe, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on May 5, 1921 in Monroe, the son of Thomas and Emma (Freitag) Steiner. Clarence married Norma V. Tschabold on December 19, 1943 at St. John's United Church of Christ. Clarence was a dairy farmer, who farmed on the family farm which was started by his grandparents in 1899. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #754, Farm Bureau for over 50 years, and enjoyed playing cards.

He is survived by four sons: Richard (Laurie) Steiner, Doran (Fern) Steiner, David Steiner and Donald (Donna) Steiner, all of Monroe; a daughter, Marley (Mike) Lindsey of Monroe; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two sisters: Gladys Steiner of Monroe and Selma Wunschel of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Marian Wehinger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke funeral home, with Rev. William T. Mike Heath officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in Clarence's name to St. John's United Church of Christ.
