Green County
Misdemeanors
On Monday:
Michael J. Kitchen, 19, Brodhead, was found guilty due to a no-contest plea of one count of disorderly conduct. Kitchen owes a forfeiture fine of $236. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on June 9. Court records indicate Kitchen brandished a knife while arguing with several co-defendants at the boat landing at Decatur Lake. Kitchen and several other men had argued, and another party brandished an unloaded .22 caliber rifle.
Leonard J. Gibbs, 39, Brooklyn, was released on a $1,500 signature bond with additional conditions that he not drink or enter bars and liquor stores. Gibbs is charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and one count of driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration, both third offenses. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Aug. 17. If convicted for the maximum penalty, Gibbs could face up to $3,000 in fines, 45 days in jail, have his license revoked for three years and have an ignition interlock device installed for three years. Gibbs has a pretrial conference set for Nov. 25.
