On Tuesday:
Chelsey A. Schulz, 26, Madison, was found guilty due to a no-contest plea of driving while intoxicated, second offense. Schulz will serve 30 days in jail with work-release privileges, have her license revoked for 16 months, undergo alcohol and other drug assessment classes and install an ignition interlock device upon relicensing. Schulz owes a fine of $1,746.
Peter J. Schaeve, 31, Verona, had one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia dismissed on a prosecutor's motion. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on May 20. Schaeve owes no fines or penalties as the charges were dismissed.
Douglas P. Roska, 55, Hazelhurst, was found guilty due to a no-contest plea of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct stemming from an incident that occurred on Jan. 5. Roska also had counts of battery, strangulation and false imprisonment dismissed. Roska will serve one year on probation as a part of a deferred prosecution agreement. If he complies with all conditions of the DPA the charge could be expunged. Court records indicate Roska yelled and swore at his wife and then grabbed her while she was holding a small child and tripped her. He then put his hands around the victim's throat and attempted to strangle her. Roska owes the court $263.
Evelyn R. Michel, 35, Mineral Point, was found guilty due to a no-contest plea of DWI, third offense. Michel will serve 14 days in jail with work-release privileges, have her license revoked for two years, undergo AODA classes and install an IID upon relicensing. Police reports indicate Michel was driving with a passenger under the age of 16 and the vehicle hit a bridge rail on County H causing the vehicle to go over the bridge and into a creek. Michel had to be extricated from the vehicle and flown by Medflight to UW Hospital in Madison to treat her injuries. She owes a fine of $1,427.
