- Robert L. Bennett, 23, Brodhead, was found guilty on Nov. 1, after pleading no contest to a charge of battery, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from a July 10 incident. Bennett's case was a deferred prosecution and sentence, in which he is to follow the prosecution agreement, which includes undergoing assessments and counseling through the Green County Human Services' CYF. Court records indicate that Bennett hit a minor victim with a wooden ruler, causing red marks, bruises, and other physical pain and bodily injury. He was fined $163.
- Dan E. Downs, 48, Browntown, was found guilty on Nov. 1 after pleading no contest to a charge of reckless driving causing bodily harm, an unclassified misdemeanor, stemming from a June 18 incident. Court records indicate that Downs was on County M, near Smock Valley Road, in the Town of Jordan, when he caused injuries to a victim while he was under the influence. Downs lost control of his motorcycle after failing to negotiate a curve. The vicim was ejected from the motorcycle. His blood alcohol level was .11 percent. Downs was sentenced to 45 days in local jail, his license was revoked for 18 months and he was and fined $1,387.
