• Jason S. Deery, 37, Monticello, was charged Monday, Oct. 29, with sending 17 obscene and abusive text messages to a Monroe woman on Oct. 2. He also faces a count of misdemeanor bail jumping. He pleaded not guilty to both charges Oct. 30. His next court date is Dec. 4.
• Christopher S. Meritt, 21, Monroe, was charged Thursday, Nov. 1, with three Class A misdemeanor counts of receiving or concealing stolen property and one count of misdemeanor bail jumping. Court records indicate he was found three times in the past year with stolen property, including a Kindle Fire tablet, a gold ring worth $1,000, a diamond ring, an X-box game and an iPod Touch. A warrant is issued for his arrest.
