The court Wednesday sentenced Shaun L. Koss, 29, Monroe, to three years probation after he pleaded no contest to attempted strangulation and suffocation, bail jumping and disorderly conduct.
He faced up to four years in prison and up to $16,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class H felony, class A misdemeanor and class B misdemeanor.
Court records indicate he grabbed a woman by the throat and threw her phone against the wall while on bond for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct Jan. 7 in Monroe.

The court Wednesday fined Christopher R. Schindler, 24, Monroe, $728 after he pleaded no contest to operating a raffle without a permit.
He faced up to 30 days in jail and up to $1,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the unclassified misdemeanor.
Court records indicate he held a raffle for people to purchase a ticket for $100 to win 15 firearms, including shotguns, rifles and handguns, between Jan. 8 and Feb. 18, 2009 at Friendly Inn in Monroe.
