Randall Scott Zuber, 37, Monroe, was sentenced on Nov. 10 to one year of probation and fined $652.30 after standing mute on a Class A misdemeanor charge of criminal damage to property. The charge stems from a May 24 incident when Monroe Police responded to an aborted call from a residence in the 2400 block of 4th Street. It was determined that a woman had called to inquire about replacing Zuber's defective ankle sobriety monitor when Zuber entered the residence by kicking through the door and tore the phone's power cord from the wall. It was determined that Zuber had been drinking in violation of his probation and had been given the monitor a week before after being found guilty of obstructing an officer and two unrelated counts of bail jumping.
Tyler P. McCabe, 27, Monroe, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $443 on Nov. 10 after standing mute on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. The charge stems from an incident on Aug. 20 when police stopped McCabe on Wisconsin 69 in the Town of New Glarus after observing him driving erratically and throw something out of the vehicle window. The officer found cotton balls and a tin cup in the vehicle, common paraphernalia for users of heroin. McCabe was also cited for driving with a revoked license.
Nathan J. Hall, 30, Brooklyn, was sentenced to 59 days in jail and fined $443 on Nov. 10 after pleading no contest to a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. The charge stems from a June 11 incident when Green County Human Services received a report of possible child abuse. When police investigated the incident, they learned that Hall had been involved in a physical altercation with a 14-year-old boy while attempting to discipline him. The boy and his mother stated that Hall had not struck him but had grabbed his shirt and dragged him by his feet while shouting racial slurs and threats. The boy was placed in the custody of another family member.
