Felonies

MONROE - Thomas Jackson Jr., 33, of Freeport, pleaded no contest on Feb. 24 to cocaine possession, second offense, a Class I felony, related to an incident on Nov. 2 2007. He was sentenced to six months in jail, which he can serve under Huber Law work release; and six months license suspension. In related cases, Jackson pleaded no contest to misdemeanor bail jumping on Feb. 24, related to the 2007 felony cocaine arrest. He was sentenced to six months in jail, also eligible for Huber Law work release, with the sentence to run concurrent to the felony case. Jackson also pleaded no contest to misdemeanor operating without a license. He was fined $246 for that offense.

Misdemeanors

- Timothy John Huffman, 22, Brodhead, was found guilty Feb. 11, after pleading no contest to battery in a May 9, 2010, incident. He was sentenced to 15 months of probation and ordered to pay $1,050 restitution and court costs.

- Brandon Scott Vavra, 21, Monroe, was found guilty, Feb. 15, after pleading no contest to using a firearm while using a controlled substance from an Aug. 21, 2010, incident. He was sentenced to 12 months of probation and 12 days in jail, and ordered to pay $163 in court costs.

- In another case, Vavra was found guilty Feb. 15, after pleading no contest to trespassing to property, an unclassified forfeiture from a Jan. 2, 2010, incident. He was fined $ 267. This is not a criminal offense and results only in a money penalty for this offense.

- Eric J. King, 33, Monroe, was found guilty Feb. 16, after pleading no contest to possession of marijuana, from an Sept. 21, 2010, incident. He was sentenced to 24 months of probation and fined $583.

- Joseph M. Kammer, 32, Juda, was found guilty Feb. 16, after pleading no contest to resisting or obstructing an officer from an Oct. 24, 2010, incident. He was sentenced to five days in jail and fined $243.

- All charges against Megan R. Elet, 22, Winslow, in a case filed Oct. 5, 2010, and stemming from a July 5, 2010, incident, have been dismissed. Elet is presumed innocent.

- Lucas J. Newcomer, 17, of Monroe, pleaded no contest on Feb. 24, to possession of THC related to a Dec. 21, 2010 arrest. He was sentenced to 18 months probation, and fined $176.

- Audie Leon Krejce, 55, of Monroe, pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct on Feb. 24, related to an incident on Dec. 3, 2010. He was sentenced to three days in jail, with credit for time served. Krejce also was fined $143.
