Felonies
- George C. Shireman, 59, address unknown, pleaded no contest June 19 to a Class I felony charge of failing to pay child support for a period longer than four months in 2006. Five similar counts were dismissed. He was granted a two-year deferred prosecution with the conditions that he pay current child support and more than $21,000 in arrears.
- Jason L. Wendler, 34, Monroe, pleaded guilty June 20 to a Class H felony charge of driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol level, a fourth offense within five years of a third. A felony sixth-offense charge of driving while intoxicated was dismissed. He is sentenced to one year in jail with Huber work-release and to three years of probation. His license is revoked two years. Conditions of his probation include alcohol/drug treatment, no drinking and working fulltime. The charges stem from an incident Feb. 23, 2012. A Monroe police officer stopped him for going the wrong way down a one-way street downtown and found he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.063 and five prior DWI convictions on his record.
- Kyle David Abrahamson, 19, Brodhead, pleaded no contest and was granted a one-year deferred prosecution June 21 on a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. A felony bail jumping charge was dismissed. Conditions of his deferred prosecution include continuing in the Rock County Drug Court Diversion Program and paying $163 to the court. Abrahamson is convicted being physically and verbally abusive toward others while intoxicated June 7, 2012, at the Park Road Pavilion near the Decatur Lake and dam in Decatur Township.
Misdemeanors
- Scott Matthew Bye, 39, Orangeville, pleaded no contest June 20 to a misdemeanor charge of knowingly violating a domestic abuse order by texting a woman 11 times and calling her two times within a 30-minute period on April 9. He was sentenced to five days in jail, which he has already served, and fined $243.
- Austin D. Flood, 17, Albany, pleaded no contest and was granted a one-year deferred prosecution June 20 on misdemeanor charges of possessing marijuana and theft. Charges of intentionally contributing to the delinquency of a child, bail jumping and another charge of theft were dismissed. Conditions of his deferred prosecution include consuming no controlled substances, paying $777 in restitution, complying with alcohol/drug counseling, attending quarterly monitoring conferences and getting his high school equivalency diploma. Court records indicate Flood stole iPods from other students at Albany High School last November, brought marijuana to school and encouraged a younger teen to bring marijuana to school.
- Shaun Lee Koss, 32, Orfordville, pleaded no contest June 21 to a misdemeanor charge of knowingly violating a domestic abuse order by texting his ex-wife earlier this year. He was ordered to pay the court $479.
