LAFAYETTE COUNTY FELONIES

• Jamison R. Schumacher, 19, Belmont, pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect to multiple felony charges during a court appearance Friday, July 27. He faces three Class B felony charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child, two of which are specified as involving sexual contact with a child younger than 13, a Class C felony charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child and a Class I felony charge of exposing a child to harmful material. The charges stem from incidents in June 2006, March and November 2011, and in January and March of this year. Schumacher has signed two $5,000 signature bonds on the charges, with the conditions that he live with his parents, have no direct or indirect contact with anyone under the age of 17, abide by a curfew between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. and not go on any property of any school district or any city, county or state park.
