FELONIES

• James L. Triplett Jr., 33, Beloit, was granted a deferred prosecution agreement June 24 after he pleaded guilty to a felony count of failing to pay child support. As part of the agreement, five similar charges against Triplett Jr., stemming from missed payments between 2009 and 2014, were dismissed. Triplett's attorney Richard McCue said Tuesday if his client follows all terms of the agreement, the remaining felony charge will be dismissed after two years. If he does not, court documents indicate, Triplett will be sentenced for the charge and could face up to one and a half years in prison.

MISDEMEANORS

• Gary T. Metz, 30, Blanchardville, was charged Monday with misdemeanor bail jumping for allegedly violating the conditions of his bond in another case by drinking alcohol in a bar. The charge stems from a June 13 incident in which police arrested Metz after they reportedly observed him inside Monroe's Sinners Saloon, 1428 17th St., and a preliminary breath test revealed his blood-alcohol concentration was 0.04 percent. Court records indicate Metz is ordered not to drink or go into bars or liquor stores per a $1,100 signature bond he signed Feb. 2. In that case, he's charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated and operating with a prohibited alcohol content. According to police records, Metz signed a $500 cash bond in the new case June 15 and has an initial appearance in the July 7.
