MONROE - Justin David Kainz, 19, Belleville, was sentenced on Dec. 20 to three years of probation and 30 days in jail with work release starting Jan. 2 for a felony conviction of forgery and three misdemeanor convictions of issuing worthless checks valued under $2500. The convictions stem from incidents in late 2010 and early 2011. Court records indicate Kainz forged his mother's signature on her checks. The conditions of his probation include full-time employment and psychiatric treatment. He was also ordered to pay almost $2,300 in restitution to area businesses.
Kristin L. Kammer, 32, Juda, was found guilty and received a one-year deferred prosecution after she pleaded no contest on Dec. 20 to a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct stemming from a July 24 domestic incident. The judge found her not guilty of a Class A misdemeanor charge of intentionally pointing a firearm at a person. As part of her deferred prosecution conditions, Kammer agreed to continue counseling with Green County Human Services, attend monitoring conferences and pay $63 to the victim/witness.
Lisa J. Collins, 32, Janesville, was found guilty on Dec. 20 of breaking conditions of her probation on Nov. 4 and sentenced to four months in jail with work release and fined $80. Collins was convicted of a Class A battery after a December 2006 incident and agreed to a deferred prosecution that included probation, restitution and fees.
Brittany A. Hodapp, 21, Freeport, Ill., was sentenced on Dec. 21 to 18 months of probation after she pleaded no contest and was found guilty on Class A misdemeanor charges of battery and resisting or obstructing an officer. The judge dismissed a Class I felony charge of substantial battery and two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an incident on July 25, 2010. As part her probation conditions, she must pay $903.06 in restitution and $326 to the court, obtain her GED and undergo an alcohol and drug assessment. Her probation may be transferred to the State of Illinois under an interstate compact.
