FELONIES
- Jerry Robert Davis, Jr., 38, Monroe, pleaded no contest on Tuesday, Jan. 31, to charges that he battered and strangled a woman during a domestic incident in October on Water Street in Albany. He was sentenced to a one-year deferred prosecution for a Class A misdemeanor charge of battery and a Class H felony charge of strangulation. A second felony strangulation charge was dismissed. Davis has been ordered to undergo treatment and counseling. Davis' $243 court fine has been paid out of his $4,000 cash bond.
- Joshua C. Funseth, 19, Belleville, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 1, to a Class I felony charge from October 2009 of possessing marijuana with intent to deliver and misdemeanor charges from July 2011 of disorderly conduct and sending threatening messages via computer. Charges were dismissed against Funseth of bail jumping, intimidating a victim and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to two years of probation, with the conditions that he obtain and maintain a job or schooling, continue substance-abuse counseling as needed, have no contact with co-perpetrators and not possess or consume any intoxicants or controlled substances. If he completes his probation successfully, he will be allowed to petition for the expungment of the charges under a state statute that grants leniency to some young offenders.
- Collin A. Gobeli, 27, Monroe, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 1, to misdemeanor charges from February 2011 of possessing THC and drug paraphernalia. Felony charges against Gobeli of dealing psilocin (hallucinogenic mushrooms) and maintaining a drug-trafficking place, stemming from the same arrest, were dismissed. He was fined $568 and sentenced to 45 days in jail with work-release privileges.
MISDEMEANORS
- Brian M. Detra, 20, Madison, was fined $661 on Wednesday, Feb. 1, for charges of resisting or obstructing an officer. The charges stem from an incident in May 2011. Misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property were dismissed after he pleaded not guilty to them on Dec. 19.
