Green County Felonies

• The court Thursday sentenced Aaron M. Lawrence, 21, South Wayne, to one year in jail with work release privileges and four years probation after he pleaded no contest to substantial battery.

He faced more than seven years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class I felony.

The court dismissed one count of second-degree reckless endangerment, a class G felony.

He originally faced more than 17 years in prison and up to $35,000 in fines.

Court records indicate he beat a man with a baseball bat and a club, causing the man to lose consciousness, sustain a black eye and lose a tooth Jan. 10, 2007, in Cadiz township

He also was sentenced to four years probation after he pleaded no contest to bail jumping in a separate case

He faced up to six years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class H felony.

The court dismissed one count of possession of marijuana, a class I felony.

He originally faced more than nine years in jail and up to $20,000 in fines.

Court records indicate that while on bond for the above case he failed to comply with conditions of his bond by possessing marijuana.

• Kenneth M. Moore, 33, Monroe, remains in custody on a $9,000 signature bond after making his initial appearance Thursday for intimidating a victim, battery, bail jumping and disorderly conduct.

Court records indicate he hit a woman in the mouth and eye, pursued her up some stairs, threatened her, pushed her and took the batteries from her phone Jan. 31 at a residence in Monroe. He was convicted of possession of marijuana in 2007 and was on bond for battery at the time of the incident.

He is charged with intimidation of a victim, a class G felony, battery and bail jumping, both class A misdemeanors, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor, all as a repeat offender. He faces more than 20 years in prison and more than $45,000 in fines, if convicted,

His preliminary hearing is Feb. 12.

Green County Misdemeanors

• The court Tuesday sentenced Joanne Ritchie, 42, South Wayne, to one year probation after she pleaded no contest to possessing drugs with an illegal prescription.

She faced up to six months in jail and $500 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the unclassified misdemeanor.

The court dismissed one count of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both unclassified misdemeanors.

She originally faced more than one year in jail and up to $2,000 in fines.

Court records indicate she had prescription drugs in her possession which were not obtained with a valid prescription Oct. 18 in Monroe.
