FELONIES

• Randy Thomas Kruser, 50, Monroe, was sentenced to 40 days in jail and fined $6,576 on Tuesday after pleading guilty to a Class G felony charge of receiving stolen property. The charge stems from a period in March 2013 when Kruser, with the aid of an accomplice (Brett Lee Niemann, 22, Monticello), stole more than $10,000 worth of equipment from their employer, Monroe Truck Equipment Inc. After unwittingly purchasing some of the stolen equipment via the website Craigslist, a buyer became suspicious and contacted police to confirm whether the equipment was sold legally. It wasn't. A review of Monroe Truck Equipment's inventory revealed that Kruser and his accomplice had stolen 14 pumps valued at nearly $1,000 each over the course of 20 days. Police found 22 stolen items in the basement of Kruser's residence. Kruser had worked for Monroe Truck Equipment for two years.

MISDEMEANORS

• Angela H. Livas, 43, Monroe, entered a one-year deferred prosecution agreement on Monday after pleading no contest to a charge of possession of THC. The charge was filed after the result of a search of Livas' residence on Aug. 24, when deputies found more than 25 grams of marijuana, two marijuana plants and a jar of hash oil in Livas' possession, among other drug paraphernalia and loose cash. Livas claimed the marijuana was entirely for her and her roommate's personal use, not for distribution. A Class I Felony charge of possession of THC with intent to distribute was dismissed.

• Gene Anthony Isely, 33, Monroe, was sentenced to 5 days in jail and fined $1,300 in restitution on Tuesday after pleading no contest to a Class A misdemeanor charge of theft. The charge stems from an incident on April 29 at Leisure Lanes bowling alley in Monroe, where Isely was recorded stealing a wallet containing approximately $1,300 in cash. The wallet's owner suspected Isely of having stolen the wallet and called the police. After reviewing security footage, police confirmed that someone matching Isely's description stole the wallet and arrested Isely at his residence on May 3. The wallet was found sans money in the bowling alley bathroom.

• Corie Lee Tschannen, 34, Browntown, entered an 18-month deferred prosecution agreement on Tuesday after pleading no contest to a Class A misdemeanor charge of theft. The charge stems from a report made on April 25, 2015, when a man reported that Tschannen had sold property he had left at her residence without his consent. According to police reports, the man had left approximately $3,500 worth of electronic equipment at Tschannen's residence, but could not collect it as contact with Tschannen was prohibited. Tschannen then allegedly claimed that her house had been robbed, with the "burglars" stealing all electronic devices in the house. The man eventually learned that his property had instead been sold to a third party, much of it having been damaged in the process. Tschannen claimed she had given the items as collateral for a $300 loan.
