Felonies

- The court Wednesday entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled a Jan. 18 district attorney conference for Matthew P. Baumgartner, 19, Monroe, who stood mute to burglary and theft charges.

Court records allege he entered a residence and took a television, a sword, a knife and other items Aug. 21 in Monroe.

He is charged with burglary - arming himself with a dangerous weapon, a class E felony; theft, a class A misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than 15 years in prison and more than $25,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $3,000 signature bond.

- The court Dec. 7 scheduled a Dec. 29 arraignment for James R. Haas, 23, Browntown, who faces drug charges.

Court records allege he had 28 Vicodin tablets in a plastic bag, 15 grams of marijuana, an illegally obtained prescription drug, and smoking pipes, crack pipes and two snorting straws in his possession when arrested Oct. 20 in Brodhead. He was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm in 2007, and convicted of delivering marijuana in 2005.

He is charged with possession with intent to deliver, a class H felony; possession of marijuana, a class I felony; possession of an illegally obtained prescription drug, an unclassified misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor.

He faces up more than 24 years in prison and up to $31,000 in fines, if convicted. He remains free on a $7,000 signature bond.

In a second case, the court scheduled a Dec. 29 arraignment for a charge of bail jumping.

Court records allege he violated the conditions of his bond for the above case Oct. 25 in Spring Grove township. He is charged with bail jumping, a class H felony. He faces up to six years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $1,000 signature bond.

Misdemeanors

The court Wednesday sentenced William J. Wilke, 36, Monroe, to 18 months probation after he pleaded no contest to resisting or obstructing an officer.

He faced up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A misdemeanor. Court records indicate he ran from officers when officers attempted to stop him following a traffic stop May 23, 2008 in Monroe.

- The court Dec. 7 entered into a one-year deferred prosecution agreement for Alexander J. Clark, 22, Brodhead, who pleaded no contest to bail jumping.

He faced up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A misdemeanor.

Court records indicate he violated conditions of his bond by committing the crime of disorderly conduct Aug. 21 in Brodhead.
