Charline Christina Fiez, age 91, of New Glarus, formerly Monroe, died on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on November 29, 1916 in Monroe, the daughter of Richard and Christina (Sharer) Keegan. Charline married Alvin Fiez on December 13, 1958 at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. She worked several places, including Swiss Colony and Fritos for a long time until she got married. She liked to sew, embroidery and play cards.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin; 2 nieces, Susan (James) Dahmen of Monroe and Patricia (Joe) Babineau of Florida; one nephew, James (Jeanne) Ruf of Monroe; one sister-in-law, Shirley Keegan. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Helen Ripley, Eulalia Ruf and Coletta Isely; and 2 brothers, Leo Keegan and Veril Keegan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2008 at St. Victor Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Monsignor Thomas Campion. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, Monroe.
