LENA - Charles R. Gillham II, age 16, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008 in an automobile accident. He was born on February 21, 1992 in Monroe, WI. He was the son of Charles and Cheryl Gillham of Lena, IL. He was a student at Lena-Winslow High School. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, football and soccer. He was inducted into the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 2004. He enjoyed boating and going fast on the water. His lifelong dream was to replace Derek Jeter on the New York Yankee's. He was a friend to many in the community and a friend to all.

He is survived by his parents; a brother, Erick (Mary Jo) Gillham of Freeland, MI; four sisters, Monica Gillham, Samantha (Justin) Fryer of Lena, IL, Jessica (Adam) Hufnagel of Janesville, WI. and Jackie Berridge of La Pere, MI; a nephew, Ryland Smith of Lena, IL; and grandfather, Lorenzo Aguilar of Reese, MI.

He was preceded by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother.

Visitation and a memorial service were held on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 at the Lena Evangelical Free Church.

A memorial has been established in his name to go towards helping troubled teens.
