Carol G. Steben, 67, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at her home in Bella Vista. She was born on October 16, 1944 in Park Ridge, Illinois.
She taught school for a short time in Illinois and Georgia and then worked at Scott Forsman and Harper & Row Publishing in writing and editing children's books. She was co-owner of Stuart Printing of Monroe, Wisconsin and retired to Prescott, Arizona where she enjoyed working with several writing groups. Health reasons required a move to a lower altitude, and then Bella Vista became home.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; sisters, Andrea Torgerson, Marlene Johnson; sister-in-law, Evelyn Hentrich and her husband John, sister-in-law Irene Miller; nieces and nephews, Erin, Sara, Kenny, Deanna (godchild), Denise, Donald, Glen, Scott, Debbie, Diane, Richard, Bill, Karen, Cindy, Ted, Kenny, Jim and grand-nieces and nephew, Melissa, Kristen, and Nathan.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Circle of Life Hospice.
