MONROE - Byron passed away on Nov. 3, 2015 at the age of 82 years. He was born on a farm in Wiota Township on Sept. 30, 1933, the son of Guy and Fern Weckerly. He attended two one-room schools; Penny Hill in South Wayne and Ilif School in Monroe. He graduated from Monroe High in 1951.

He was married to Marlyn Schueler at St. John's Church in Monroe in October of 1953. He then moved to Hales Corners. Byron and his wife, Marlyn, raised one daughter and one son, both now retired.

Byron worked for the Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for 32 years and was a member of the National Guard, Company K, based in Monroe.

Together the family spent many happy days at their cabin in the Hayward area hunting and fishing and enjoying the little animals of the woods. Byron also enjoyed snowmobiling and working with his honey bees. He taught beekeeping to the boy scouts for their beekeeping badge. After Marlyn's death, Byron moved back to Monroe to be near his sisters and brothers.

Byron was married to Marlyn for 57 years. She passed away in August of 2011. Byron is survived by daughter Carol Weckerly (Frank Barry) and son Kim (Kim) Weckerly. He is lovingly survived by 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Ralph (the late Shirley) of Monroe, Anna (Nathan) Stuessy of Monroe, Eleanor (the late Marvin) Klassy of Monroe, Alan (Diana) of Monroe, Gloria (Gary) Ruskell of Walworth and Patsy LaBorde of Monroe. He is further survived by other relatives and many memorable friends.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, from 1 PM - 3 PM at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1724 14th St., Monroe, WI with Funeral Service at 3 PM. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1936 Emery St., East Troy, WI. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Green County Inter-Church Food Pantry, 1015 15th Ave., Monroe, WI 53566, would be appreciated.
