Bruno H. Schrade age 89 of Monroe, died Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Bruno was born on February 5, 1926 in Wormditt, East Prussia, Germany, the son of Rudolf and Elizabeth (Hiepel) Schrade. He served in the German Air Force until emigrating to Wisconsin in December, 1949 on a sponsorship from Victor Wells. He married Ruth Wallendal on May 3, 1958 in Madison. Bruno was employed as a production manager at the Joseph Huber Brewing Company for 30 years. He also worked as a cheesemaker for a few years and owned and operated the Mt. Horeb Trading Company until retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and the German Club of Madison.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Schrade of Monroe; and a sister, Doris in Germany.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Booth officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials will be dedicated to a Monroe High School scholarship fund in Bruno's name. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
