BRODHEAD - Bonnie D. Wolter, age 65, died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Woods Crossing in Brodhead. She was born on November 26, 1942 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Ardell and June (Hillison) Fink. Bonnie married Donald Wolter on November 30, 1963 in Brodhead. Bonnie graduated from Brodhead High School and Green County Normal Teaching school. Bonnie continued to further her education, while she was a teacher, and ended up with her Masters in Education. She was a school teacher in the Orfordville school district for 37 years, retiring in 2000. Bonnie always commented about her love of teaching; and seeing former students and what they are now doing. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, and was involved with the Red Hatters, Homemakers, a former 4-H Leader, and snowmobiling. Bonnie enjoyed planting flowers and decorating, especially at Christmas time.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; a son, Ardell (Pam) Wolter and a grandson, Bobby, all of Brodhead. A sister, Wendy Delaney of Chicago and a niece, Margaret Delaney of Chicago; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Congregational United Church of Christ, with Pastor Tiff Bates officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Church. Everson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
