Barbara T. Kearns, age 83 of Footville, formerly of Monroe area, died Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Manor in Footville. She was born on February 24, 1932 in St. Charles, Illinois, the daughter of Lawrence and Helen (Umdenstock) Moore. She graduated from Mt. St. Mary High School in St. Charles, IL. Barbara married William T. Kearns on December 2, 1950 in Geneva, Illinois. Barbara farmed with her husband in Illinois and Wisconsin until his death in 1992. She was employed at Swiss Colony for 20 years. She was a member of St. Victors Catholic Church.

Her greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She was an avid pinochle player and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faith was very important to her and she shared that love with youth by teaching religious education classes to second graders as they prepared for First Communion.

She is lovingly survived by 12 children: Doris Kearns of Naperville, IL, Michael (Deb) Kearns of Heyworth, IL, David Kearns of Waterman, IL, Catherine (Ken) Ehler of Calmar, IA, Frank (Julie) Kearns of Huntley, IL, JoAnn ( Bill Bartels) Borhart of Monroe, WI, Lori (Douglas) Borhart of Marengo, IL, James (Dacia) Kearns of Huntley, IL, Kimberly (James) Hawthorne of Westby, WI, Phillip (Audra) Kearns of Orfordville, Phyllis (Richard) Hose of Monroe and Bernard (Cindy) Kearns of Union, IL; 30 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; a brother, Nicholas (Rosemary) Moore ; and a sister, Mary Ann (Walter) Voss; sisters-in-law, Julie Moore and Mary Jane (Edwin) Drafke. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons: William L. and John; a sister, Lorraine Erdmenger, a brother, Lawrence Moore; 2 grandchildren: Jennifer Kearns and Richard Kearns; sons-in-law, Howard E. Gehrke and Roger Schrom; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Kearns.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victors Catholic Church in Monroe with Fr. Tom Marr celebrating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr. and 18th Ave. Monroe, WI 53566, and from 10:00 am Wednesday until the time of service, at the church.
