Arlene L. Hartwig, age 90 of Monroe, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Graceland Manor. She was born on May 7, 1927 in Janesville, the daughter of Oscar and Nellie (Risch) Martin. Arlene married Leland G. Hartwig on December 13, 1947 in Janesville. She worked at Parker Pen in Janesville, after she got married she farmed with her husband, and for 10 years was a DHIA milk tester.

Arlene belonged to Monroe Bible Church, Women of the Moose, chapter 599, the Monroe Garden Club, she was a 4-H instructor with Hiawatha 4-H club, she belonged to several card clubs, enjoyed sewing, knitting and was an avid bowler.

She is survived by her husband, Leland of Monroe; 2 children: Jeff Hartwig of Monroe and Leanne Rosander of Rockford, IL; 2 grandchildren: Alexandra and Katherine Rosander; a brother Robert Martin of Janesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, sister, Dorothy Natz; brother, Willis Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at the funeral home.
