Anna G. Hartman, 84, Wausau, died Monday, February 11, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born November 8, 1923 in Spencer, Mass., daughter of the late William and Bessie (Baker) Casey. On June 15, 1949, she married George Hartman in Madison, Wis. He survives.
Anna was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Women's Army Corps as a Physical Therapist at the 101st General Hospital, Nuremberg, Germany. She earned her undergraduate degree in physical therapy at Sargent College, Boston, Mass., and continued her education, earning her Master's Degree in physical therapy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Throughout her career, she worked as a physical therapist for hospitals in Monroe, Wausau and Merrill. Among her many interests, she enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her family.
Survivors include, her husband, George Hartman, Wausau; four children, Bonnie (Bill) Johnson, Lincoln, Nebr., James Hartman, Fort Collins, Colo., Joan (Kent) Borgen, Winona, Minn. and Doris (Brian) Stenger, Wilmington, N.C.; two grandsons, Michael and David Stenger; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lorraine Hartman; and two sisters, Olive Jolin and Doris Carey.
Private family services were held. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe, Wis.
