Ann Curran, age 78 of Browntown, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe. Ann was born November 17, 1935 in Monticello, the daughter of Ray and Mabel (Carroll) Silver Sr. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1956 and married James Curran on April 17, 1956 in Belleville. Ann and her husband made cheese at the Spece Cheese Factory in Cadiz Township from 1957 until retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Monroe American Legion Post #84 Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose Chapter #599.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Curran of Browntown; two sons, Shorty (Susan) Curran of Browntown, and Jon (Toni) Curran of Gratiot; three grandchildren, Erica (Dave) Wand, Jonny (Dani) Curran, and Joanna (Andrew) Neff; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Art (Rosemary) Silver of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Silver and Ray Silver Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at 11:00 A.M., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Father Larry Bakke officiating. A luncheon will be held at the Monroe American Legion Post #84 followed by burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Gratiot. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A memorial fund will be established in Ann's name.
