MONROE - Alvin R. Friedrich age 85 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Pleasant View Home. He was born May 17, 1925 on a farm at rural Monroe, WI, the son of Otto and Frieda (Brink) Friedrich and attended Badger School at rural Juda.
Alvin married Dolores Badertscher on January 26, 1947 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Brodhead and they farmed until 1989. Alvin then started Fence Building Service which he did until retiring in 2004. Alvin married Kathryn Whitehead in 1993. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, Loyal Order of Moose #754, On the Road RV Club, Fence Building Association, and enjoyed dancing, watching football, and having breakfast every morning at Juda with the guys.
Surviving are his sons, Gayle (Dawn) Friedrich of Juda, WI, Craig Friedrich of Beloit, WI, and Bryan (Lois) Friedrich of Snohomish, WA; grandsons, Robert & Corey Friedrich of Beloit; granddaughters, Shano (David) Gunter of Brodhead, WI and Michelle Friedrich of Snohomish, WA; brother, Ralph Friedrich of Afton, WI; and his special friend, Kate Friedrich. He is predeceased by his Parents; wife, Dolores; and brothers, Rodolph & Herbert.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe with Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead, WI.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
A Memorial Fund is being established in Alvin's memory.
