Alvin L. Neuenschwander, age 76, of Reeseville, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Visitation for Alvin will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Tuesday, beginning at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Lois Rosko will officiate. Burial will be at Lowell Cemetery.

Alvin LeRoy Neuenschwander was born on July 9, 1933 in Monroe, Wisconsin to the late Walter and Lena (Schultz) Neuenschwander. He served in the United States Army from February of 1955 to February of 1957. On January 24, 1959, Alvin was united in marriage with Barbara Boeck in Belleville, Wisconsin. He worked as a cheesemaker for over 40 years and was very proud of his award winning cheese. Alvin enjoyed mowing lawn and rototilling gardens on his beloved tractor. He also enjoyed gardening, leather craft, fishing, and vacationing with his family every summer.

Survivors include his two children, James (Kerry) Neuenschwander of Neosho and Debra (Randy) Gave of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Vanessa Gave, Jeffrey, Kathryn, and Jacob "JT" Neuenschwander; and Isaiah Cooperman; a step granddaughter, Kaitlyn Cooperman; brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Mary)Neuenschwander of Brodhead, Gladys (Keith) Wolf of Orangeville, Glen (Carla) Neuenschwander of Birchwood, Raymond (Katie) Neuenschwander of Browntown, Linda (Dennis) Thompson of Monroe, and William Neuenschwander of Monroe, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara, his son, Michael Alvin Neuenschwander, and his brother, Don Neuenschwander.
