Alice Oostdik
Alice Oostdik, age 94, died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Graceland Manor. She was born on August 7, 1914 in Lafayette County, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Kipfer) Johnson. She graduated from Argyle High School in 1932 and St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1936. Alice was a Registered Nurse, she worked at the Monroe Clinic from 1945 to 1977. Alice married John Oostdik on April 2, 1956 in Las Vegas, NV.

She formerly belonged to St. John's United Church of Christ, Moose Lodge and AARP. Alice enjoyed cooking, baking and corresponding with family and friends.

She is survived by a step-son, Jack (Rosemary Forcade) Oostdik of Monroe; 2 grandchildren, Michael Oostdik and Kimberly (John) Frankki; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Esther Locke of Oregon, WI and Rose Marie (Vic) Bredeson of Beloit; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Marty Johnson of Monroe; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Gustove Johnson; and sisters, Erma Alm and Dorothe Hanson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at Yellowstone Lutheran Church, with Pastor Daniel Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be given in Alice's name to Yellowstone Lutheran Church or Green Haven Family Advocates or Monroe Clinic Hospice.
