Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Oct. 13-19, police performed 32 security checks, 30 citizen assists, 19 assists of other agencies, 12 follow-ups to incidents and 14 vehicle registrations; responded to 43 calls for service, eight EMS calls and nine 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 10 traffic stops. No fire calls and no detox or mental health transports were reported.

On Sunday, Oct. 13: 

●  A hit-and-run traffic crash was reported at 9:50 p.m. in the 1200 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Monday, Oct. 14:

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 2:39 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. It was determined to be an oversight, and the matter was resolved.

On Tuesday, Oct. 15:

●  Warnings were issued between 2 and 3 a.m. for parking violations involving vehicles parked left of center facing traffic in the 600 block of 13th Street, 200 block of 13th Street and 500 block of 9th Street.

●  A Brodhead man, 41, was cited for issuing worthless checks at 2:51 p.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Wednesday, Oct. 16:

●  A Janesville man, 56, was cited for speeding at 8:30 a.m. in the 400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A vehicle parked in traffic was reported at 6:11 p.m. in the 900 block of 16th Street. Police checked the area and did not locate a violation.

●  A physical altercation was reported at 6:46 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 3rd Avenue. The incident was referred to the Green County District Attorney.

●  A semi parked off the truck route was reported at 11:55 p.m. in the 2500 block of East 3rd Avenue. The driver was warned.

On Thursday, Oct. 17:

●  A junk vehicle was reported at 3:49 p.m. in the 700 block of East 4th Avenue.

●  A traffic crash involving an unknown vehicle hitting a parked car was reported at 4:49 p.m. in the 1500 block of West 7th Avenue.

●  A warning was issued at 10:35 p.m. for a vehicle parked left of center facing traffic in the 600 block of East Exchange Street.

On Friday, Oct. 18:

●  A Monroe man, 40, was arrested at 7:38 a.m. in the 1500 block of West 6th Avenue on a warrant issued by the Monroe Police Department.

●  A junk vehicle was reported at 11:14 a.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street.

●  A code violation involving a freezer, several tires and other debris in a yard was reported at 11:27 a.m. in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 4:01 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. It remained under investigation.

On Saturday, Oct. 19:

●  A dog at large was reported at 12:08 p.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police were unable to locate the dog.

●  A Brodhead man, 21, was cited for driving with a suspended license, non-registration of an auto and no vehicle insurance at 2:44 p.m. in the 1000 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Lake Forest, Illinois woman, 63, was cited for speeding at 3:24 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  An Orfordville man, 28, was cited for non-registration of an auto at 4:51 p.m. in the 600 block of 23rd Street.

●  Illegal burning was reported at 5:19 p.m. in the 1200 block of East 7th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  Illegal burning was reported at 5:28 p.m. in the 100 block of 13th Street. A warning was issued.

●  A Brodhead woman, 32, was cited for not having vehicle insurance at 7:54 p.m. in the 400 block of 10th Street.

●  A person in violation of park curfew hours was reported at 11:08 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A Brodhead man, 53, was cited for a heavy truck route violation at 11:29 p.m. in the N400 block of East 2nd Avenue.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Laurie A. Lewis, 56, Janesville, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating under the influence of alcohol after deputies responded to a traffic complaint at 4:27 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. She was stopped in the W100 block of St. John Road, Town of Decatur. She was also cited for operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration, greater than 0.15%. She was released to a responsible party pending court.

On Friday, Oct. 18:

●  Lashawn T. Thurman, 19, Freeport, was arrested and jailed on a Freeport Police Department warrant after deputies, Illinois State Inspectors, Monroe police and the Wisconsin State Patrol conducted a high-risk traffic stop at 10:09 p.m. near the intersection of 6th Street and 22nd Avenue in Monroe.

●  John C. Falk, 34, Beloit, was arrested at about 3:45 p.m. at the Green County Justice Center at the request of the Department of Corrections. He was held at the jail.

On Saturday, Oct. 19:

●  Deputies, Brooklyn First Response and Brooklyn EMS responded at 4:27 a.m. to the W400 block of Amidon Road, Town of Brooklyn, for a report of a person who had ingested cocaine. Investigation resulted in Mykenzie L. Schillinger, 20, Belleville, being arrested on a first-offense charge of operating with a restricted controlled substance. She was released to a responsible party pending court.

DARLINGTON — On Tuesday, Oct. 15:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 1:11 p.m. on Faymont Road, Town of Darlington.

●  A civil dispute was reported at 2:54 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 4:13 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 10:17 p.m. on East Center Street in South Wayne.

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 10:27 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle.

On Wednesday, Oct. 16:

●  Janice A. Murray, 60, Benton, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and driving without vehicle insurance at 5:47 a.m. on Wis. 80 in Grant County.

●  An animal problem was reported at 6:54 a.m. on County F, Town of Fayette.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 10:46 a.m. on Silver Spring Road, Town of Wiota.

●  A restraining order violation was reported at 4:10 p.m. on County W, Town of New Diggings.

●  A person making threats to injure was reported at 4:14 p.m. on East Liberty Street in Belmont.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 5:23 p.m. on County E, Town of Shullsburg.

●  John F. Pittz, 63, Argyle, was cited for non-registration of a vehicle at 7:18 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 7:18 p.m. on Christensen Drive in Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 11 p.m. on Pickanax Street in Shullsburg.

On Thursday, Oct. 17:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 4:49 a.m. on County F, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:39 a.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 4:17 p.m. on Furnace Hill Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 4:53 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Rebecca V. W. Waters, 28, Mineral Point, was cited for improper passing of a stopped school bus after a deputy responded at 5:08 p.m. to Wis. 23, Town of Darlington, for a traffic complaint.

●  Harassment was reported at 7:21 p.m. on West Harrison Street in Shullsburg.

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 8:01 p.m. on Bennett Road, Town of New Diggings.

●  Mary T. Babb, 57, Freeport, was cited for speeding at 8:32 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle.

●  Karl D. Seffrood, 19, South Wayne, was cited for speeding at 9:15 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 2:03 a.m. on South Broad Street in Argyle.

●  Deputies responded to assist Argyle police at 4:18 p.m. on Third Street in Argyle.

●  Debris on the roadway was reported at 6:46 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.

●  An animal problem was reported at 10:14 p.m. to West Pleasant Street in South Wayne.

On Sunday, Oct. 20:

●  A domestic dispute was reported at 9:04 a.m. on Park Avenue in Benton. Wisconsin State Patrol and Cuba City police assisted deputies on scene.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 11:42 a.m. on County D, Town of Argyle.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 1:36 p.m. on East Liberty Street in Belmont.

●  An injured deer was reported at 2:34 p.m. on Walnut Road, Town of Darlington. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources assisted a deputy on scene.

●  Kaylen R. Miller, 20, Orangeville, was cited for speeding at 4:14 p.m. on County W, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to assist with unlocking a vehicle at 4:25 p.m. on South Galena Street in Shullsburg.

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 7:22 p.m. on State Line Road, Town of Gratiot.
