Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD —  For the week of Sept. 26 to Oct. 2, police performed 71 security checks, 17 citizen assists, 12 assists of other agencies, 18 follow-ups to incidents, 11 vehicle registration and one traffic stop; responded to 58 calls for service and reported nine EMS calls, 14 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and four fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

● The police department received an anonymous letter regarding various residential code violations within the city at 5:13 a.m. Sept. 26. This is under investigation. 

On Sept. 27: 

● A gas drive-off was reported at 9:08 a.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.  

● A Brodhead juvenile, 14, was cited for underage possession of tobacco/vaping device at 1:54 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. 

On Sept. 28: 

● A vehicle side swiping a parked vehicle was reported at 4:57 a.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue. This is under investigation. 

● Harassment was reported at 9:50 a.m. in the 1900 block of East 3rd Avenue.  

● Vandalism was reported at 12:25 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. 

On Sept. 29: 

● A juvenile was cited for underage possession of tobacco/vaping device at 8:49 a.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. 

● A dog running at large was reported at 9:46 a.m. in the 2500 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police were unable to locate the dog. 

● Gas being siphoned from vehicles was reported at 12:54 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. This is under investigation. 

● A vehicle in violation of the city’s 48-hour parking ordinance was reported at 1:04 p.m. in the 800 block of East Exchange Street. 

● A juvenile was cited for underage possession of tobacco/vaping device at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 30 in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. 

On Oct. 1: 

● A vehicle that ran a stop sign and almost hit a pedestrian was reported at 6:11 p.m. in the 600 block of East Exchange Street. This is under investigation. 

● Burning was reported at 6:22 p.m. in the 400 block of 10th Street. A warning was issued. 

● A Brodhead man, 50, was arrested on a fourth-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 11:14 p.m. in the 400 block of East 2nd Avenue. He was also cited for operating left of center, hit-and-run to an unattended vehicle, no proof of vehicle insurance and failure to notify police of accident. 

On Oct. 2: 

● Fraud was reported at 11:20 a.m. and at 4:14 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. 

● A Brodhead woman, 43, was arrested on a probation violation at 12:22 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

● A hit-and-run traffic crash was reported at 2:04 p.m. in the 900 block of East 2nd Avenue. This is under investigation. 


Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — Officers assisted a citizen regarding ATV restrictions on roadways at 11:01 a.m. Sept. 25. 

On Sept. 26: 

● Officers responded for a medical call at 1:24 p.m. in Monticello. Monticello Fire First Response and Green County EMS assisted.
