Brodhead Police
BRODHEAD — For the week of April 21-27, police performed 50 security checks, 33 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, nine vehicle registrations and 11 follow-ups to incidents; responded to 53 calls for service, eight EMS calls, four fire calls and 13 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 14 traffic stops. There were no detox or mental health transports.
On Sunday, April 21:
● A complaint of people fighting was reported at 1:21 a.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police issued verbal warnings.
● A Rockford, Illinois man, 56, was cited for speeding at 3:36 p.m. in the 600 block of East 9th Avenue.
● A vehicle parked in a no-parking zone was reported at 4:15 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued.
● A truck off the Heavy Truck Route was reported at 4:40 p.m. in the 2300 block of West 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.
● A Brodhead man, 25, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 5:06 p.m. in the 400 block of East 4th Avenue.
● A McConnell, Illinois man, 28, was cited for an improper stop at a railroad stop sign and for not having vehicle liability insurance at 7:06 p.m. in the 400 block of East 4th Avenue.
● A Brodhead man, 25, was cited for not having vehicle liability insurance at 7:47 p.m. in the 1200 block of 21st Street.
● A Brodhead man, 28, was cited for driving without a valid license and not having vehicle liability insurance at 8:58 p.m. in the 2500 block of 1st Center Avenue.
On Monday, April 22:
● Police responded at about 9:15 a.m. for multiple reports of property maintenance violations. Garbage piled in a yard was reported in the 700 block of East 4th Avenue. The matter was resolved. Debris and tires on a property was reported in the 1200 block of West 3rd Avenue. Upon police arrival, the debris had been removed but the tires remained. Police issued a warning. Debris piled on a property was reported in the 1300 block of West 3rd Avenue. Police issued a warning. Numerous issues involving building structure, debris and animals were reported in the 400 block of West 3rd Avenue. The matter remains under investigation.
● A code violation of a vehicle with flat tires was reported at 9:22 a.m. in the 1300 block of 1st Center Avenue. The violation had been corrected upon police arrival.
● A domestic problem involving people in a verbal disagreement was reported at 2:14 p.m. in the 500 block of 10th Street. Police made contact, and the matter was resolved.
● Harassment involving unsolicited comments was reported at 6:29 p.m. in the 900 block of East 6th Avenue. A warning was issued.
On Tuesday, April 23:
● A vehicle parked facing traffic was reported at 1:01 a.m. in the 700 block of East 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.
● Truancy was reported at 11:04 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. A warning was issued.
● A vehicle rear-ended in a parking lot was reported at 3:41 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. Due to this occurring on private property, no citations were issued.
● Disorderly conduct involving people in a verbal altercation was reported at 6:20 p.m. in the W700 block of Golf Course Road.
On Wednesday, April 24:
● Two vehicles parked facing traffic were reported at 12 a.m. in the 1600 block of 20th Street. Warnings were issued.
● A vehicle parked facing traffic was reported at 12:48 a.m. in the 700 block of 18th Street. A warning was issued.
● A damaged vehicle window was reported at 5:17 a.m. in the 700 block of East 4th Avenue.
● A Beloit man, 20, was arrested on a Rock County warrant at 5:34 a.m. in the 700 block of East 4th Avenue.
● Between about 9 and 10:30 a.m., police investigated reports of vehicles in violation of the city’s Junk Vehicle ordinance in the 1000 block of 5th Street, 500 block of West 2nd Avenue, 900 block of 18th Street, 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue and 900 block of 13th Street.
● Fraud was reported at 11:56 a.m. in the 800 block of 12th Street. An account had been opened without the complainant’s knowledge. Further investigation determined this was a civil matter, not a criminal matter.
● A Brodhead woman, 27, was cited for failure to yield right-of-way following a traffic crash at 12:25 p.m. in the 1300 block of West 3rd Avenue.
● A Brodhead man, 48, and a Brodhead woman, 40, were cited for issuing worthless checks at 4:20 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue.
On Thursday, April 25:
● A vehicle parked facing traffic was reported at 12:37 a.m. in the 1000 block of East 4th Avenue. A warning was issued.
● A Brodhead man, 28, was cited for an expired auto registration at 1:21 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.
● A Davis, Illinois man, 48, was cited for speeding at 7:56 a.m. in the 500 block of 1st Street.
● A traffic crash involving a semi that hit a pole was reported at 8:50 a.m. in the 300 block of 23rd Street.
● Truancy was reported at 12:50 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. A warning was issued.
● Two juveniles were cited for truancy at about 12:50 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.
● A dog at large was reported at 5:19 p.m. in the 2200 block of 1st Center Avenue. The dog was gone upon an officer’s arrival.
On Friday, April 26:
● Police responded at 10:34 a.m. to a report of excess debris in a yard in the 1000 block of 5th Street. A warning was issued.
On Saturday, April 27:
● A dog at large was reported at 3:38 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. A warning was issued.
● From 9:30 to 10:30 p.m., police issued 10 warnings for vehicles parked facing traffic in the 1100 block of 15th Street, 1500 block of West 5th Avenue, 1000 block of 18th Street, 1300 block of 19th Street, 1300 block of 21st Street, 2200 block of West 5th Avenue, 1500 block of East 2nd Avenue, 700 block of 15th Street and 900 block of West 3rd Avenue.
● A semi parked off the truck route was reported at 10:47 p.m. in the N400 block of East 2nd Avenue.
Green County Sheriff
MONROE — Daria L. Beutel, 26, Browntown, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor bail jumping and cited for speeding and driving with a revoked license at 1:36 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the W5500 block of County C, Town of Washington. She was taken to the jail, then released after bond was posted.
● Nicholas D. Gille, 40, Monticello, was arrested on a Green County warrant at 8:28 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at a residence in the 400 block of South Monroe Street in Monticello. He was transported to the jail, then released after bond was posted.

ALBANY — Daniel F. Baumgartner, 32, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license Sunday, April 28.
