Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — Dennis L. Johnsen, 34, Gratiot, was cited for non-registration of an auto at 4:52 p.m. Sunday, March 8, on East Louisa Street.

●  Michela M. Kastner, 21, Browntown, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, March 21, on Wis. 81.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of March 15-21, police performed 15 security checks, 24 citizen assists, 12 assists of other agencies, eight follow-ups to incidents and 12 vehicle registrations; responded to 22 calls for service and made two traffic stops; and reported six EMS calls, two fire calls and five 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On Sunday, March 15:

●  A Janesville man, 40, was cited for non-registration of an auto at 3:17 a.m. in the 400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Monday, March 16:

●  A vehicle parked left of center facing traffic was reported at 2:48 a.m. in the 1900 block of West 7th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  Littering was reported at 3 a.m. in the 800 block of East 8th Avenue. Several trash cans in the area had been dumped in the roadway.

●  Loud music was reported at 11 p.m. in the 1000 block of 19th Street. A warning was issued.

On Tuesday, March 17:

●  An aggressive dog was reported at 10:09 a.m. in the 1300 block of West 2nd Avenue.

On Wednesday, March 18:

●  Fraud involving an online purchase not being received was reported at 9:42 a.m. in the 900 block of East 7th Avenue.

●  Disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle was reported at 5:24 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. A vehicle had been used to spin out in new gravel.

On Friday, March 20:

●  A complaint of a vehicle parked in a resident’s driveway was reported at 10:17 a.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. The owner was contacted and the vehicle removed.

On Saturday, March 21:

●  A Janesville man, 26, was arrested on a charge of failure to stop for an officer at 1:41 p.m. in the 100 block of 19th Street. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to stop at a stop sign, disturbance of the peace with a motor vehicle and unreasonable and imprudent speed.

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, March 19:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:36 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 10:38 a.m. on Woodberry Road, Town of Lamont.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 2:10 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 5:28 p.m. on County J, Town of Benton.

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a welfare check at 6:03 p.m. on Washington Street in Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 7:02 p.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:19 p.m. on Buncombe Road, Town of Benton.

●  Skye K. R. Hoffman, 19, Blanchardville, was cited for possession of THC at 7:56 p.m. on Main Street in Blanchardville.

On Friday, March 20:

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 12:03 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. Belmont police assisted on scene.

●  The theft of a handgun from a farmer’s shop was reported at 8:27 a.m. on County F, Town of Darlington. The theft occurred in December.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 2:05 p.m. on County M, Town of Argyle.

●  Concerns over teenagers trespassing in an abandoned house on South Warren Street in South Wayne were reported at 2:55 p.m. The listed owner of the property is deceased. Village leaders were trying to determine how to safely secure and eventually possibly raze the property.

On Saturday, March 21:

●  Aaron V. Berge, 46, Gratiot, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 12:04 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  Illegal dumping was reported at 11:39 a.m. on Porter Road, Town of Wiota. A bumper and some tires were found on a person’s property. The township responded to clean it up.

●  A traffic hazard of debris on the roadway was reported at 2:55 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded at 5:27 p.m. to West Church Street in Shullsburg to assist Shullsburg police with a domestic dispute.

On Sunday, March 22:

●  A deputy responded at 6:59 a.m. to County XX, Town of Belmont, to assist Platteville police.

●  The theft of a wallet left in a port-a-potty at the Cork Down Saloon on South Lake Road in rural Blanchardville was reported at 6:22 p.m.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 6:36 p.m. on County J in Benton.

●  Dustin S. Schemehorn, 29, Benton, was cited for no vehicle insurance and driving with a suspended license at 6:53 p.m. on County W, Town of Benton.
