Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — On June 2: 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 11:06 a.m. in the 200 block of West North Avenue. Everything was found to be okay. 

●  License plates stolen off vehicle was reported at 3:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Washington Street. 

●  A pickup truck squealing its tires was reported at 7:35 p.m. in the 100 block of North Monroe Street. The area was monitored. 

On June 3: 

●  ATV’s speeding at different times of the day was reported at 7:13 a.m. on North Monroe Street. The area was monitored. 

●  A pickup truck parked in front of fire hydrant was reported at 7:19 a.m. in the 400 block of North Monroe Street. A citation for parking less than 15 feet from hydrant was issued. 

●  Police conducted traffic control for Monticello Fire First Response at 8:15 a.m. on North Main Street and West Coates Avenue. 

●  Police assisted Monticello Fire First Response and Green County EMS at 12:37 p.m. within village. 

●  A parking complaint was reported at 3:55 p.m. in the 500 block of Summit Avenue. 

●  Jonathan N. Culak, Madison, was cited for driving without a valid license at 4:09 p.m. on Wis. 69 and West Coates Avenue. 

●  Vehicles driving into Montesian Park and parking was reported at 9:45 a.m. June 4. No vehicles were located. Area was monitored.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of May 23 to May 29, police performed 62 security checks, 20 citizen assists, 17 assists of other agencies, 16 follow-ups to incidents, 18 vehicle registration and eight traffic stops; responded to 37 calls for service and reported 12 EMS calls, 16 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and one fire call. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On May 24: 

●  A Brodhead man, 19, was cited for non-registration of vehicle at 1:16 a.m. in the 1200 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

●  A Brodhead man, 39, was cited for failure to stop from driveway following traffic crash at 11:47 a.m. in the 2300 block of 1st Center Avenue. The driver of second vehicle, a Brodhead man, 35, was cited for disorderly conduct, driving while suspended and operating without a valid motorcycle license. 

●  An Illinois man, 24, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and non-registration of a vehicle at 7:17 p.m. in the 600 block of East Exchange Street. An Illinois woman, 20, was arrested for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. 

On May 25: 

●  Money taken from wallet was reported at 4:36 p.m. in the 2000 block of West 6th Avenue. This remains under investigation.  

●  A vehicle that backed into a parked vehicle was reported at 5.m. in the 200 block of 23rd Street. No citations were issued as this occurred on private property. 

On May 26: 

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s junk vehicle ordinance was reported at 8:21 a.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue. This remains under investigation. 

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 9:41 p.m. in the 200 block of 12th Street. Matter was resolved. 

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 11:44 a.m. May 27 in the 400 block of East 6th Avenue. Matter was resolved. 

On May 28: 

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s 48-hour parking ordinance was reported at 6:50 a.m. in the 900 block of West Exchange Street. A warning was issued. 

●  A custody dispute was reported at 5:11 p.m. in the 1200 block of 25th Street. After investigation a charge of bail jumping was referred to the District Attorney’s Office. 

●  A Janesville man, 20, was cited for driving after suspension and non-registration of vehicle at 5:16 p.m. May 29 in the 1800 block of 1st Center Avenue.
