DARLINGTON – On Dec. 22: 

● Cameron J. Schroeder, 19, Rewey, was cited for loud exhaust and window tinting at 2:35 a.m. on West Mound View Avenue in Belmont. 

● Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:16 a.m. on Rennick Road, Town of Shullsburg. 

● A deputy responded for an alarm at 2:23 p.m. on Alma Street in Benton. 

● A deputy responded for a vehicle unlock at 2:54 p.m. on North Penn Street in Belmont. 

● Kelli A. Klemm, 45, South Wayne, was cited for speeding at 9:14 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. 

On Dec. 23: 

● Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:24 a.m. on Dunbarton Road, Town of Gratiot and at 3:41 p.m. on County P, Town of Monticello. 

● Disorderly conduct was reported at 12:12 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont. 

● A juvenile problem was reported at 1:11 p.m. on County D, Town of Wayne. 

● A gas drive-off was reported at 2:37 p.m. on North Mound Avenue in Belmont. 

● A 911 misdial was reported at 2:51 p.m. on West Main Street in Benton. 

● A deputy responded for a citizen assist at 3:50 p.m. on East Liberty Street in Belmont. 

● A traffic complaint was reported at 7:16 p.m. on County W, Town of White Oak Springs. 

● A disabled vehicle was reported at 7:26 p.m. on County F, Town of Darlington. 

On Dec. 24: 

● A deputy responded to check welfare at 12:30 a.m. on West Mound View Avenue in Belmont. Darlington police assisted. 

● A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:18 a.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont, at 8 p.m. on Trotter Lane, Town of Argyle and at 8:01 p.m. on East High Street in South Wayne. 

● A traffic complaint was reported at 4:02 p.m. on Furnace Hill Road, Town of Willow Springs. 

● A deputy responded for a vehicle unlock at 5:16 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot. 

● An animal bite was reported at 8:43 p.m. on County K, Town of Darlington. 

On Dec. 25: 

● A deputy responded to check welfare at 2:14 a.m. on East Street in Darlington. 

● Disorderly conduct was reported at 3:57 p.m. on 2nd Avenue in Benton. 

● Suspicious activity was reported at 6:50 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg. 

● A deputy responded for a vehicle unlock at 7:32 p.m. on Riverbend Road, Town of Wayne. 

● Oscar R. Ortez-Murillo, 30, Darlington, was arrested on a second-offense charge of operating while intoxicated, a Lafayette County warrant, driving after revocation and obstruction at 8:56 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. He was also cited for possession of open intoxicants, failure to maintain tail lamp and unsafe lane deviation. A passenger, Marlon A. Serrano, 28, Darlington, was arrested on three Lafayette County warrants. He was also cited for possession of open intoxicants. Both were jailed. 

● A deputy responded for a citizen assist at 11:50 p.m. on East Milwaukee Street in Argyle. 

On Dec. 26: 

● A hit-and-run was reported at 12:45 p.m. on South Galena Street in Shullsburg. 

● Brianna K. Soto, 24, Asbury, Iowa, was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and inattentive driving at 2:13 p.m. on Bridge Street in Gratiot. 

● Deputies responded for an alarm at 9:13 p.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard. 


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD – For the week of Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, police performed 29 security checks, 12 citizen assists, six assists of other agencies, 23 follow-ups to incidents, 22 vehicle registration and three traffic stops; responded to 38 calls for service and reported 12 EMS calls, 12 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and three fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On Dec. 26: 

● A Brodhead man, 49, was arrested on a fifth-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 12:27 a.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. He was also cited for operating an ATV on the highway, failure to stop at stop sign and unreasonable and imprudent speed. 

● A non-reportable crash involving a vehicle hitting a mailbox was reported at 6:57 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue.  

● A Brodhead woman, 47, was cited for driving after suspension, failure to notify police of accident, non-registration of auto, failure to transfer title, display unauthorized registration plate and no vehicle insurance at 6:01 p.m. Dec. 27 in the 1400 block of East 2nd Avenue following a traffic crash. 

On Dec. 28: 

● A parking complaint was reported at 9:15 a.m. in the 700 block of 21st Street.  

● A cat at large was reported at 9:41 a.m. in the 600 block of 17th Street. A warning was issued. 

● An Oxford woman, 50, was cited for speeding at 10:20 a.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

● Harassment involving text messages was reported at 1:02 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. This remains under investigation. 

● Disorderly conduct was reported at 4:54 p.m. in the 1000 block of 19th Street. Warnings were issued.
