Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Jan. 12-18, police performed 13 security checks, 36 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, eight follow-ups to incidents and 10 vehicle registrations; responded to 56 calls for service, six EMS calls, one fire call and one 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made three traffic stops. One mental health transport and no detox transports were reported. 

On Sunday, Jan. 12:

●  A Brodhead man, 41, was cited for no vehicle insurance at 5:03 p.m. in the 400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A possible temporary restraining order violation was reported at 7:06 p.m. in the 500 block of East 3rd Avenue. A Beloit man, 33, will be referred to the Green County District Attorney’s Office for charges.

On Monday, Jan. 13:

●  A code violation involving debris around a property was reported at 1:16 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  Two dogs running at large were reported at 5 p.m. in the 900 block of East 9th Avenue. Their owner was warned.

On Tuesday, Jan. 14:

●  Loud voices and noise coming from a residence was reported at 6:21 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  Truancy was reported at 1:12 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  Theft was reported at 5:16 p.m. in the 1300 block of East 5th Avenue. It was a delayed report of a purse taken from a vehicle in August.

On Wednesday, Jan. 15:

●  Police responded to check welfare at 12 a.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street.

●  A speeding vehicle was reported at 2:54 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. The vehicle was not located.

On Thursday, Jan. 16:

●  A vehicle door standing open was reported at 12:57 a.m. in the 400 block of 1st Street. Contact was made, and it was an oversight.

●  A code violation of vehicles running unattended was reported at 5:08 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 2nd Avenue. The owners were warned.

On Friday, Jan. 17:

●  A vehicle parked against traffic was reported at 12:14 a.m. in the 900 block of East 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle parked against traffic was reported at 12:26 a.m. in the 300 block of 12th Street. A warning was issued.

●  A semi parking off the truck route was reported at 12:57 a.m. in the 900 block of East 6th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle parked against traffic on the terrace was reported at 1 a.m. in the 1300 block of East 7th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle parked against traffic was reported at 1:06 a.m. in the 1400 block of East 4th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  Possible fraud was reported by phone at 9:39 a.m. No information was exchanged, or money given in the incident.

●  A vehicle traveling all over the roadway was reported at 12:58 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue. The vehicle was not located.

●  A 16-year-old female driver from Juda was cited for driving too fast for conditions at 3:17 p.m. in the 2200 block of 1st Center Avenue, following a traffic crash with no injuries.

On Saturday, Jan. 18:

●  A vehicle with a trunk standing open was reported at 1:06 a.m. in the 800 block of East Exchange Street. The vehicle was secured.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 9:37 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. The driver was contacted and the matter was resolved.

●  A citation for a Winter Parking violation was issued at 5:16 p.m. in the 800 block of 10th Street.

●  A Brodhead woman, 20, was cited for driving with a revoked license at 7:28 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  A code violation of snow plowed into the street was reported at 7:50 p.m. in the 700 block of West 2nd Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  Fifteen citations for Winter Parking violations were issued, including one at 8:39 p.m. in the 600 block of East Exchange Street.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Jacob A. Riley, 23, Argyle, was arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections hold at the Green County Probation and Parole Office at 10:57 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. He was held at the jail.

●  Derek E. Gobeli, 33, Monroe, was arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections probation hold at the Green County Probation and Parole Office at 8:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17. He was jailed.

●  Jeremy A. Moore, 37, Oregon, was arrested on a charge of bail jumping and cited for driving with a revoked license, operating left of center and non-registration of an auto following a traffic stop at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, in the N8500 block of County E, Town of Brooklyn. He was jailed pending court or posting of bond.


Monroe Police

MONROE — On Sunday, Jan. 19:

●  Jamie Anna Beth Wood, 36, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance following a traffic stop at 6:42 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69. After a K-9 search of the vehicle, passenger Deserie C. Holst, 29, Brodhead, was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia.

●  An unruly customer was reported at 9:17 p.m. at a business in the 1600 block of 9th Street. Investigation led to the arrest of John E. Cate, 46, Fox Lake, Illinois, on a bench warrant issued in July 1996 by the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court on charges of battery, disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer. He was jailed.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Monday, Dec. 30:

●  A deputy responded at 8:29 p.m. to County K, Town of Gratiot, for an alarm.

On Tuesday, Dec. 31:

●  A deputy responded at 1:34 p.m. to Wis. 11, Town of Benton.

●  Michael E. Scace, 54, Monticello, was cited for no vehicle insurance at 4:43 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Lamont.

●  A vehicle being driven all over the road was reported at 4:48 p.m. on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.

●  Hugo Aravjo-Trujillo, 28, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license at 5:23 p.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard. In addition, Heather M. E. Edwards, 33, Darlington, was cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 5:56 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  A deputy came across a suspicious vehicle at 11:08 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

On Wednesday, Jan. 1:

●  An erratic driver was reported at 2:34 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  An ATV complaint was reported at 10:43 a.m. on Trotter Road, Town of Argyle.

●  Henry L. Buckner, 63, Chicago, was cited for speeding at 1:27 p.m. on County W, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  Ashley M. Keyes, 33, Ridgeway, was cited for no vehicle insurance, a suspended vehicle registration and displaying unauthorized license tags at 4:16 p.m. on Tiny Road, Town of Gratiot.

●  Theft was reported at 5:28 p.m. on Ames Road, Town of Darlington.

●  Jose Laynez-Cobo, 26, Lancaster, was arrested on a second-offense charge of driving without a valid license at 6:33 p.m. on Galena Street in Darlington. He was taken to the jail, where he was booked and released.

On Thursday, Jan. 2:

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 2:49 a.m. on West Oates Street in Shullsburg.

●  Adrian Garcia-Hernandez, 26, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license at 3:35 a.m. on County K, Town of Darlington.

●  An animal injured in the roadway was reported at 4:44 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.

●  A deputy responded at 10:32 a.m. to Woods Branch Road, Town of Darlington, to assist with unlocking a vehicle.

●  A deputy responded at 11:28 a.m. to County E, Town of Darlington, to assist with unlocking a vehicle.

●  Deputies responded at 2:09 p.m. to Center Hill Drive in Darlington to assist Darlington police with a commercial alarm.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 3:57 p.m. on Maple Street in Blanchardville.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 5:53 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:33 p.m. on County G, Town of Argyle.

●  William R. Clements III, 26, Hammond, Indiana, was cited for speeding at 8:47 p.m. on County W, Town of Shullsburg.

On Friday, Jan. 3:

●  Rufino Arguelles-Flores, 21, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license at 1:13 a.m. on County W, Town of Gratiot. In addition, Dennis A. Zeas, 22, Darlington, was cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive.

●  Sarah E. Gruel, 25, Shullsburg, was cited for no vehicle insurance at 10:31 a.m. on County W, Town of Benton.

●  Linda K. Guthman, 63, Wisconsin Rapids, was cited for speeding at 2:35 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Karl A. Von Neumann, 27, Pleasant Prairie, was cited for speeding at 3:16 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  Benjamin E. Anderson, 29, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited for no vehicle insurance and driving without a valid license at 4:33 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.
