Monroe Police

MONROE — Rose L. Brown, 37, Darlington, was cited for retail theft at 9:03 a.m. July 30 following a theft report in the 300 block of 6th Avenue West.

On July 31:

●  Cory A. Castellanos, 27, Beloit, was arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon and cited for speeding following a traffic stop at 1:19 p.m. on the W6000 block of Wis. 11. He was released pending court. A passenger, Michael P. Ward, 29, Beloit, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and was cited for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. He was released pending court.

●  Bruce D. Stiner, 60, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws at 11:52 p.m. in the 1300 block of 9th Street. He was released after posting cash bail.

On Aug. 2:

●  Nolan T. Solberger, 30, Monroe, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and battery under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws at 2:46 a.m. in the 2500 block of 10th Street after police responded to a report of a domestic dispute. He was jailed pending court.

●  Melissa L. Kuchenbecker, 38, Blanchardville, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 2:47 a.m. at 8th Street and 8th Avenue following a traffic stop. She was also cited for operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and without required lamps lit. She was released to a responsible person pending court. 


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Dustin J. Olson, 30, Monroe, was arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections probation warrant at 4:16 p.m. July 31 at the local Probation and Parole Office. He was jailed.

●  Lacey F. Leifker, 29, Shullsburg, was arrested on a warrant at 4:08 p.m. Aug 1 in the N7300 block of Wis. 69 in New Glarus following a traffic stop for speeding. She was turned over to Lafayette County deputies, then released after posting bond.

DARLINGTON — On July 20:

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 5:21 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  An internet scam was reported at 10:20 p.m. on Dunbarton Road, Town of Shullsburg.

On July 21:

●  A harassment complaint between a couple whose relationship had gone bad was reported at 12:23 a.m. on County K, Town of Gratiot. A deputy also responded the following day at 4:28 p.m. to Main Street in Gratiot to keep the peace between the same arguing couple.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 12:53 a.m. on Mitchell Hollow Road, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 4:12 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:48 p.m. on Penny Benton Road, Town of New Diggings.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 10:25 p.m. on Fairview Street in Blanchardville.

On July 22:

●  Ontoniel Rivera-Menjivar, 21, Darlington, was cited for speeding and driving without a license at 5:43 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. 

●  Alex J. Yaun, 20, Shullsburg, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 6:37 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  An animal problem was reported at 8:30 a.m. on County F, Town of Fayette.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 11:55 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 3:14 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 3:31 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

●  Trespassing related to a civil issue between a couple was reported at 3:55 p.m. on Shawnee Road, Town of New Diggings. A deputy again responded at 11:16 p.m. for a theft complaint related to ongoing relationship issues with the same couple.

●  A deputy responded for a custody exchange at 5:51 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  Children with toy guns shooting at signs were reported at 8:43 p.m. on Railroad Street in Blanchardville.

●  Child abuse was reported at 9:09 p.m. on Main Street in Benton. It remains under investigation.

On July 23:

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 8:12 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  Michael S. Prestegard, 20, Platteville, was cited for speeding at 5:40 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  Andrew R. Galloway, 66, Sun City, Arizona, was cited for speeding at 6:53 p.m. on County K, Town of Gratiot.

●  A vehicle lockout was reported at 9:18 p.m. on Holland Road, Town of Darlington.

●  Livestock in the roadway was reported at 10:51 p.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard.

●  Deputies responded to keep the peace at 11:30 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

On July 24:

●  Nikki L. Putchel, 26, West Allis, was arrested on charges of possessing a Schedule V drug, drug paraphernalia and cocaine, obstructing an officer and driving without a license after a deputy responded to assist Belmont police with a traffic stop at 1:58 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. She was released on a cash bond.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 6:21 a.m. on Ames Branch Road, Town of Shullsburg; at 6:28 a.m. on Wardsville Road, Town of Darlington; and 8:01 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  A deputy provided traffic control at 7:26 a.m. on West Main Street in Benton. Benton police assisted.

●  A deputy responded to keep the peace at 5:10 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

●  Tracy L. Engstrom, 49, Janesville, was cited for driving with revoked license, failure to install an ignition interlock device, unreasonable and imprudent speed and no proof of vehicle insurance after a deputy responded to a report of an erratic driver at 10:29 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  A person driving through the area reported a suspicious woman walking down the highway wearing a backpack at 10:30 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Shullsburg. The woman did not appear to be in distress and asked the driver not to call the police. A responding deputy did not locate the woman.

On July 25:

●  A deputy responded at 4:24 a.m. to East North Street in Darlington to assist Darlington police with a suspicious activity complaint.

●  Jeslias Z. Murillo-Lopez was cited for speeding at 6:30 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy provided traffic control at 8:16 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 11:45 a.m. on South State Street in Argyle.

●  Michelle R. Zoller, 41, South Wayne, was cited for disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 7:49 p.m. to West Center Street in South Wayne a complaint that she was throwing ice cubes from her upstairs apartment at her downstairs neighbor.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:20 p.m. on Meier Road, Town of Wayne.

●  A deputy assisted the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 8:48 p.m. on Ipswitch Road, Town of Belmont.

On July 26:

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a hit-and-run at 12:18 a.m. on Clay Street in Darlington.

●  Marty J. Peterson, 47, Gratiot, was arrested on a charge for domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct at 12:45 a.m. after a deputy responded to assist Darlington police with a welfare check on Main Street. He was released on a cash bond.

●  Harassment was reported at 6:56 a.m. on Galena Street in Argyle.

●  A vehicle lockout was reported at 1:57 p.m. on South Galena Street in Shullsburg.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 7 p.m. on Riverside Road, Town of Gratiot.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:29 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  A civil dispute was reported at 7:29 p.m. on Hazel Street in Belmont.

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 7:46 p.m. on Elm Street in Argyle.

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 10:39 p.m. on 1st Street in Benton.

●  A domestic dispute was reported at 11:13 p.m. on Phillip Lane, Town of Benton. Cuba City police assisted.

On July 27:

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a suspicious activity complaint reported at 12:51 a.m. on East Minerva Street in Darlington.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 2 a.m. on Galena Street in Benton. Two mailboxes were blown up. No suspects were immediately located.

●  Irvin J. Gonzalez-Benavides, 27, Beach Park, Illinois, was cited for possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding at 5:02 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of New Diggings.

●  A vehicle lockout was reported at 1:22 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a welfare check at 3:34 p.m. on Wells Street in Darlington.

●  Damage to a fence was reported at 8:17 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. A vehicle, believed to be a red Mitsubishi based on parts found in the area, drove through the fence.

●  Illegal burning was reported at 8:40 p.m. on South Galena Street in South Wayne.

●  Deputies assisted Grant County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic complaint at 11:28 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall.

On July 28:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:21 a.m. on Cub Hollow Road, Town of Gratiot, and at 4:38 p.m. on Tollakson Road, Town of Wayne.

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 4:05 p.m. on West Main Street in Benton.

●  A deputy assisted with traffic control at 4:18 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  Deputies assisted with traffic control at 7:01 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A complaint came in at 10:09 p.m. of a deer, possibly poached, in the back of a truck on County W, Town of Benton. The deer was actually a shoulder mount. However, contact with the vehicle led to the arrest of Nicole L. Sheldon, 37, Dubuque, Iowa, on a Dubuque County warrant. She was held at the Lafayette County Jail.

On July 29:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 6:13 a.m. on County O, Town of Kendall.

●  A township worker reported at 10:13 a.m. on Ames Road, Town of Darlington, that cement blocks had been dumped in the ditchline and caused damage to his mower.

●  A deputy assisted the Jo Daviess Sheriff’s Office at 12:53 p.m. on County W, Town of Monticello.

●  Thefts of hand tools, boating gear, tires and other items were reported at 1:18 p.m. on Sand Road, Town of Argyle. The thefts are believed to have occurred on numerous occasions.

●  A dog bite was reported at 5:59 p.m. on County O, Town of Seymour, and at 6:04 p.m. on County B, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 7:48 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  Ryan P. Furlong, 34, Galena, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 7:58 p.m. on County W, Town of Benton.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:15 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Elk Grove.

On July 30:

●  Luis F. Ramos-Hernandez, 19, Darlington, was stopped at 1:11 a.m. on Wis. 81 and referred to the Lafayette County District Attorney for a third-offense charge of driving without a license.

●  Livestock in the roadway was reported at 7:03 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy responded to a report of a vicious animal at 4:42 p.m. on Ridge Road, Town of New Diggings. Two dogs had attacked two goats.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 4:45 p.m. on Galena Street in Argyle; at 8:40 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont; and at 9:56 p.m. on Whaley Court, Town of Benton. 

●  Kevin J. Carney, 47, Oak Forest, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 5:02 p.m. on County W, Town of Monticello.

●  Two juveniles were cited for disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 6:03 p.m. to East Main Street in Benton for a report of a fight in the street.

●  A scam was reported at 7:19 p.m. on East Prospect Street in South Wayne.

●  Darlington police responded to check welfare at 11:10 p.m. on Keep Street in Darlington. A deputy assisted.

On July 31:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 10:20 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle.
