Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Aug. 11-17, police performed 72 security checks, 53 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, 12 vehicle registrations and 10 follow-ups to incidents; responded to 21 calls for service, 10 EMS calls and 11 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 24 traffic stops. No fire calls and no detox or mental health transports were reported.

On Sunday, Aug. 11:

●  A Janesville man, 35, was warned for an alcohol offense at 12:21 a.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A barking dog was reported at 2:24 a.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. The owner was warned.

●  The theft of a motor vehicle was reported at 4:06 a.m. in the 1400 block of 1st Center Avenue. The vehicle was located, and no charges were issued.

●  The theft of a license plate was reported at 10:44 a.m. in the 600 block of East Exchange Street.

●  A code violation of grass clippings mowed into the street was reported at 11:46 a.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police made contact, and the clippings were cleared away.

●  An Argyle man, 48, was cited for outside consumption of alcohol at 5:52 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A suspicious condition was reported at 10:58 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 8th Avenue. Police made contact with three male teens, two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old. They were escorted home and warned for curfew violations.

On Monday, Aug. 12:

●  A traffic complaint of a vehicle being driven all over the road was reported at 6:36 p.m. Police located the vehicle unoccupied at the owner’s residence.

On Tuesday, Aug. 13:

●  A suspicious person was reported at 3:48 a.m. on a property in the 1200 block of West 4th Avenue. Police did not locate anyone on the property.

●  A code violation of an unregistered vehicle was reported at 11:41 a.m. in the 1000 block of 5th Avenue. Police issued a warning.

●  A Brodhead man, 69, was cited for outside consumption of alcohol at 2:46 p.m. in the 800 block of East 2nd Avenue.

On Wednesday, Aug. 14:

●  A motor vehicle crash with no injuries was reported at 4:55 a.m. in the 2200 block of 1st Center Avenue. It remained under investigation.

●  A code violation of grass clippings mowed onto the street was reported at 2:48 p.m. in the 1200 block of 17th Street. Police issued a warning.

●  A Janesville woman, 55, was cited for speeding at 3:50 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  A code violation of people selling without a permit was reported at 5:19 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 3rd Avenue. Police issued warnings.

On Thursday, Aug. 15:

●  A Janesville man, 39, was cited for speeding at 3:02 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Brodhead man, 59, was cited for speeding at 4:20 p.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street.

●  The theft of a license plate was reported at 4:25 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 4th Avenue.

●  A code violation of grass clippings mowed onto the street was reported at 5:18 p.m. in the 400 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police issued a warning.

●  A Monroe man, 28, was cited for not having motor vehicle liability insurance at 10:56 p.m. in the 800 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Friday, Aug. 16:

●  A Brodhead man, 43, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian at 6:05 p.m. in the 2400 block fo 1st Center Avenue.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Devery Shanowat, 50, Milwaukee, was arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections felony warrant at 9:28 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, following a traffic stop at 3rd Avenue and 7th Street. He was jailed. 

●  Aidan J. Roesslein, 18, Freeport, was arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections probation and parole warrant at about 7:40 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of 14th Avenue. He was jailed.

On Saturday, Aug. 17:

●  A hit-and-run was reported at 4:49 a.m. at the Stop-N-Go convenience store and gas station, 1607 9th St. The vehicle struck a shelf of products for sale next to the building, damaging the shelf and jugs of windshield wiper fluid. Officers located the suspect vehicle in the 2500 block of 8th Street and arrested the driver, Brittany N. Ethridge, 28, Monroe, on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated. She was also cited for hit-and-run on property adjacent to a highway. She was booked, then released to a responsible person pending court.

●  Kayla R. Solberger, 33, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 10:07 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 1000 block of 4th Avenue West. She was also cited for driving at an unreasonable and imprudent speed and with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration. She was booked, then released to a responsible person pending court.

DARLINGTON — On Tuesday, July 30:

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:41 p.m. on North Broad Street in Argyle.

●  An animal bite was reported at 10:40 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

On Wednesday, July 31:

●  An animal problem was reported at 6:20 a.m. on North Van Buren Street in Benton.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 8:38 a.m. on Wis. 11 in Gratiot.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 2:29 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy responded to provide traffic control at 1:49 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg.
