Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — On Friday, March 27:

●  Police responded to check welfare at 2:55 p.m. in the 900 block of 19th Street. Contact was made, and everything was fine.

●  A code violation involving a person burning leaves was reported at 4:12 p.m. in the 900 block of 3rd Street. A verbal warning was issued.

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 9:46 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Contact was made with the owner, and the vehicle was later removed.

For the week of March 29-April 4, police performed 30 security checks, 31 citizen assists, six assists of other agencies, six follow-ups to incidents, 11 vehicle registrations and four traffic stops; responded to 10 calls for service and reported seven EMS calls, one fire call and eight 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On Sunday, March 29:

●  A code violation of loud music from a vehicle was reported at 7:15 p.m. in the 700 block of East 8th Avenue. The vehicle left prior to the officer’s arrival.

On Monday, March 30:

●  A dog running at large was reported at 9:42 a.m. in the 900 block of 1st Center Avenue. The owner was warned.

On Tuesday, March 31:

●  A Brodhead man, 31, and a Janesville woman, 26, were cited for theft at 2:58 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue, stemming from an incident reported Feb. 10.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 4:08 p.m. in the 100 block of 6th Street. The owner was warned.

●  Damage to property was reported at 6:38 p.m. in the 600 block of East 9th Avenue. Some wires on a boat trailer had been cut. It remained under investigation.

On Wednesday, April 1:

●  Trash left along the roadway was reported at 3:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of 11th Street. The matter was turned over to the Brodhead Streets and Sanitation Department.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 7:10 p.m. in the 300 block of 8th Street. The owner was warned.

On Thursday,April 2:

●  A littering complaint involving a trash truck losing its contents was reported at 12:25 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue. The top cover on the truck was not operational. A citation was issued to Advanced Disposal.

●  A suspicious vehicle loitering in the 700 block of 21st Street was reported at 2:57 p.m. Police made contact, and the vehicle was removed.

●  Youths playing in the basketball courts at Putnam Park were reported at 4:27 p.m. in the 400 block of West 3rd Avenue. Police made contact, and the subjects left the area. Under the state’s “Safer at Home” order to minimize the spread of the new coronavirus, parks remain open but playground equipment is closed and “all public and private gatherings of any number of people that are not part of a single household” are banned.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Officers were dispatched to Walmart at 7:59 p.m. Sunday, March 29, for a report of a man who came into the store to confront his ex-girlfriend, an employee. The man, 28-year-old Michael A. Rothenbuehler, South Wayne, had left by the time police arrived but was located at a residence in the 2400 block of 10th Avenue and arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence Laws. He was released after posting the required cash bail.

●  Kayla M. Kenney, 24, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence Laws after officers responded to a reported disturbance in the 2200 block of 1st Street at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 1. She was released after posting the required bail.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, March 26:

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 7:31 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  An escaped horse on the roadway was reported at 11:31 p.m. on County G and on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.

●  Jillian M. Bauer, 41, and Jess A. Hampton, 42, both of Darlington, were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 11:55 a.m. to R and K Road, Town of Darlington, for a domestic dispute.

On Friday, March 27:

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 2:48 p.m. on County K, Town of Darlington.

●  Terrance J. Mutert, 53, Platteville, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 4:57 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.
