Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of March 31-April 6, police performed 24 security checks, 48 citizen assists, eight assists of other agencies, 30 vehicle registrations and nine follow-ups to incidents; responded to 23 calls for service, six EMS calls, four fire calls and 11 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 10 traffic stops. There were no detox or mental health transports.

On Monday, April 1:

●  Suspicious activity involving a person sitting in a vehicle taking pictures was reported at 10:05 a.m. in the 700 block of 25th Street. The vehicle left before police arrived.

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 10:43 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 44, was cited for speeding at 11:34 a.m. in the 500 block of 1st Street.

●  A Madison man, 40, was cited for speeding and issued a written warning for unclean or defective lights or windshield at 12:29 p.m. in the 400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  Theft from a residence was reported at 2:55 p.m. in the E400 block of 23rd Street.

●  A Monroe man, 29, was cited for an expired auto registration and issued a written warning for not having proof of vehicle insurance at 5:40 p.m. in the 100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 53, was arrested on a City of Monroe warrant at 7:54 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 4th Avenue.

On Tuesday, April 2:

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 5:52 a.m. in the E400 block of 23rd Street. Police made contact and learned the vehicle belonged to a new employee.

●  A Brodhead man, 39, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at 1:51 p.m. in the 1000 block of 19th Street.

On Wednesday, April 3:

●  Complaints of truancy were reported at 11:51 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. Police issued warnings.

●  Police responded to check welfare at 1:08 p.m. in the 900 block of West Exchange Street. The subject was fine.

●  Police responded to check welfare at 2:29 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. The subject had been ill.

●  Police responded to check welfare at 3:25 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street and made contact with the subject.

●  A Brodhead man, 60, was cited for non-registration of a motor vehicle at 7:58 p.m. in the 200 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 8:25 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police made contact with the subject, who returned and paid for the fuel.

On Thursday, April 4:

●  A dog at large running between the schools was reported at 3:31 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. The dog was not located.

●  Police responded to check welfare at 6:54 p.m. in the 1000 block of 19th Street and made contact with the subject.

On Friday, April 5:

●  Truancy was reported at 9:13 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A suspicious vehicle circling the area was reported at 11:11 a.m. in the 700 block of East 6th Avenue. Upon police arrival, no vehicle matching the description was located.

●  Police responded to check welfare at 1:42 p.m. in the E300 block of 23rd Street. Police made contact with the subject. The person’s family was notified.

On Saturday, April 6:

●  A person who did not clean up dog feces was reported at 6:20 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Exchange Street. Police warned the person.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 9:37 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police made contact with the driver, and the bill was paid.


Darlington Police 

DARLINGTON — Gerard McKibben, 29, Darlington, was referred for a criminal traffic charge of driving with a revoked license after police investigated a hit-and-run crash reported at about 7:45 a.m. April 1. The crash happened on East Street. There were no injuries reported from the crash. Police located the offending vehicle stored in a barn on County G. McKibben was also cited for driving without vehicle insurance, inattentive driving, unsafe lane deviation, failure to notify police of an accident and hit-and-run to an unattended vehicle.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Kody J. Klitzke, 21, Monticello, was arrested on a second-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol after deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at Harper Road and Meadowlark Circle, Town of Washington, at 12:06 a.m. Wednesday, April 10. He was also cited for operating left of center and for making an improper turn. He was released pending court.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Monday, April 1:

●  A parking complaint was reported at 6:36 p.m. on North Park Street in Belmont.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 7:09 p.m. on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.

●  Brandi L. Overturf, 35, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license and no vehicle insurance at 8:52 p.m. on Washington Street in Darlington.

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 9:10 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  Jaime A. Flores-Mendez, 26, Platteville, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 11:04 p.m. on Platteville Avenue in Belmont.

On Tuesday, April 2:

●  Felipe Mendoza-Sanchez, 27, Darlington, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance and with a suspended license at 2:24 a.m. on East Mary Street in Darlington.

●  John A. Vieth, 48, Darlington, was cited for speeding at 5:17 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  Deputies responded to assist with traffic control at 10:05 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 2:37 p.m. on West Main Street in Benton.

●  A restraining order violation was reported at 4:28 p.m. on County D, Town of Wayne.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 6:26 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.

●  Scott E. Walton, 38, Shullsburg, was cited for speeding and driving without vehicle insurance at 7:58 p.m. on County W, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Ricky L. Crisholm Jr., 34, Dubuque, was cited for speeding at 9:45 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

On Wednesday, April 3:

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 1:17 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.
