MONROE — A new court date has been set for a possible plea on a sexual assault charge in Green County Circuit Court related to an incident that allegedly occurred outside an Albany bar last summer.

Derek James Larosh is accused of 4th-degree sexual assault and felony bail jumping. Larosh is scheduled for a plea/sentencing hearing at 8:30 a.m. March 7 before Circuit Judge Thomas Vale.

District Attorney Craig Nolen declined to comment directly on the status of the case or whether it is going to trial soon.

“The matter was set over for another pre-trial conference, which is an opportunity for the Defense and Prosecution to discuss possible resolution,” said Nolen.

That earlier case was pending when Monroe Police officers responded to the 1400 block of 17th Street at about 9:35 p.m. last November 29 to investigate a report of a disturbance. That’s where they found and arrested Larosh, 35 at the time.

In the Green County sexual assault case, a reportedly shirtless and shoeless Larosh allegedly grabbed and attempted to kiss a young victim who was waiting for her ride outside an Albany bar on July 7, 2022.

Police later located and took Larosh into custody on the sexual assault charge, felony bail jumping and a charge of being a repeat offender, which in Wisconsin increases the potential penalty for multiple convictions. Larosh has a criminal record.

After a three-day trial in 2017, Larosh, then 29, and living at that time in Rock Springs, was found not guilty on two Class C felony counts of second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim; and through the use of force; and four misdemeanor counts of bail jumping.

In that case, prosecutors alleged Larosh invited an intoxicated woman into his home in August 2014 before sexually assaulting her once she fell unconscious. Since that trial, he has been arrested for bail jumping (2015, 2017), drug possession (2016), hit-and-run (2019), OWI 3rd-offense, and possession of methamphetamine (2021).
