BRODHEAD — A Monroe man has been charged with his fifth operating while intoxicated offense, according to Brodhead authorities.
The suspect was pulled over by a Brodhead Police officer, who reportedly witnessed his vehicle cross the centerline on Wis. 11 early Saturday.
The suspect was pulled over just before 1:30 a.m., when the Brodhead officer saw him traveling northbound on 1st Center Ave (Wis. 11) near 15th Street. A traffic stop was initiated near the intersection of 14th Street, where the vehicle reportedly crossed the center line. As a result, police arrested Gail Myers, 53, of Monroe on suspicion of driving while impaired.
Myers was released from jail Monday after his initial appearance in Green County Circuit Court. The court imposed a $5,000 signature bond with conditions. In Wisconsin a person who has been convicted of 4 or more OWI offenses, cannot have a blood alcohol concentration of .02 or greater.
