On May 15:

● At 10:13 a.m., officers located a parked vehicle with significant damages in the 1500 block of 18th Street. An investigation indicated that the vehicle had been struck the previous day. The offending driver was identified as Kyle M. C. Cole, 18, of Monroe, who was found to have only an instruction permit. Cole was apparently traveling east in the 1500 block of 18th Street, allegedly swerved to avoid striking a dog when Cole’s vehicle struck the legally parked vehicle. There were no injuries and significant damages to both vehicles involved. Cole was cited for operating a motor vehicle by permittee without an instructor, warned for other violations and released pending a court appearance.
