On May 28:
● At 3:20 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries at the intersection of 6th Street and 20th Avenue. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Trisha M. Wilson, 44, of Monroe, was traveling north on 20th Avenue, stopped at the stop sign at 6th Street, pulled into 6th Street colliding with a vehicle which was traveling east on 6th Street, operated by an 18-year-old Monroe woman. Both vehicles sustained functional damages. Wilson was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and released pending a court appearance.
On June 6:
● At 5:22 p.m., officers were called to a three-vehicle accident with no reported injuries at the intersection of 14th Avenue and 16th Street. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Nicholas J. Walechka, 22, of Minnesota City, MN, was traveling west on 16th Street, failed to stop for a stop sign at 14th Avenue, and collided with a vehicle which was northbound on 14th Avenue, operated by a 40-year-old Lena, IL woman. The second vehicle was then propelled into a third legally parked unoccupied vehicle. Walechka’s vehicle and the second vehicle sustained disabling damages and were towed. The third vehicle sustained functional damage. Walechka was cited for failure to stop for a stop sign, and released pending a court appearance.
