On January 3:
● At 11:38 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries in the 500 block of West 21st Street. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Jesse T. J. Mattmann, 29, of Monroe, was performing a backing maneuver when she collided with a parked and unattended vehicle. Mattmann left the scene without reporting the accident, but was contacted shortly after. Both vehicles sustained functional damage. Mattmann was cited for hit and run to an unattended vehicle and was released pending a court appearance.
On January 10:
● At 2:41 a.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle hit and run accident with no reported injuries at STH 69 and 8th Street. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Angelito Robles Sanchez, 52, of Blanchardville, was southbound on STH 69, entered the intersection turning left on 8th Street and collided with a vehicle northbound on STH 69 operated by a 40-year-old Freeport man. Robles Sanchez left the scene but was located a short time later. Both vehicles sustained functional damages. Robles Sanchez was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-1st offense and was also cited for failure to yield the right of way while making a left turn, hit and run, failure to notify law enforcement of an accident, operating without a valid driver’s license, operating without vehicle insurance, having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration. He was booked and released to a responsible adult pending a court appearance.
