On December 8:

● At 5:08 p.m., officers arrested Axel R. Cayetano Ramirez, 25, of Freeport, IL, following a traffic offense stop in the 700 block of 8th Avenue. Cayetano Ramirez was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-1st offense and also cited for operating without required headlamps, operating without a valid driver’s license, and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration. Cayetano Ramirez was booked and released to a responsible adult pending a court appearance.

On December 11:

● At 5:22 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries at 6th Avenue West and the ramp off STH 11 westbound. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Jerome W. Cherney, 68, of Monroe, was westbound on the off ramp from STH 11, stopped at the stop sign and proceeded into 6th Avenue West. The vehicle then collided with a vehicle which was northbound on 6th Avenue West, operated by a South Wayne woman. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed. Cherney was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and released pending a court appearance.

On December 12: 

● At 7:35 a.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with reported injuries at the intersection of 8th Avenue and 8th Street. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Tesla N. Paul,30, of Monroe, was traveling south on 8th Avenue, stopped at the stop sign at 8th Street, entered into the intersection and collided with a vehicle which was westbound on 8th Street, operated by an Orangeville, IL man. The Orangeville, Il man was transported by Green County EMS to the SSM Monroe Hospital with non-like-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Paul vehicle was also transported by Green County EMS to the SSM Monroe Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed. Paul was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and released pending a court appearance.

On December 14:

● At 3:05 a.m., officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 2200 block of 5th Avenue. The investigation led to the arrest of Derek J. Larosh, 37, of Monroe, on charges of battery and disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws. Larosh was also taken into custody on an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole and confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.

● At 4:48 a.m., officers were called to a motor vehicle vs. parked vehicle accident with reported injuries, in the 800 block of 17th Avenue. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Marco A. Martinez Sarmiento, 23, of Monroe, was traveling east in an alley off of the 800 block of 17th Avenue, when it collided with a parked vehicle. Martinez Sarmiento sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to SSM Health Monroe Hospital. Both vehicles sustained moderate damages, and the Martinez Sarmiento vehicle was towed. Martinez Sarmiento was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-1st offense, and was also cited for possessing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. He was later released to a responsible person pending a court appearance.

● At 6:59 p.m., officers were called to a report of a vehicle crashing into a residence, with no reported injuries, in the 2100 block of 11th Avenue. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Chase R. Miskimon (19), of Monroe, was northbound on 11th Avenue, lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and crashed into a house. The house sustained moderate damage, and the vehicle sustained severe damages and was towed. Miskimon was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-1st offense and possession of drug paraphernalia and also cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle. Miskimon was later released to a responsible adult pending a court appearance. 

On December 16:

● At 4:27 p.m., officers located a motor vehicle accident with reported injuries at the intersection of STH 69 and 2nd Street. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Louis A. Schultz, 80, of South Wayne, was traveling south on STH 69, attempted to turn east on 2nd Street and collided with a vehicle which was northbound on STH 69, operated by Maxwell E. Ziemba, 23, of Beloit. Both drivers reported minor injuries and were examined by EMS at the scene. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed. Schultz was cited for failure to yield the right of way while turning left and released pending a court appearance.

● At 7:28 p.m., officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of 12th Avenue. During the investigation, officers arrested Trevor R. Frie, 33, of Monroe, on an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole on a probation violation. Frie was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.

On December 18:

● At 4:22 p.m., officers were called to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of 30th Avenue. After an investigation, officers arrested Justin S. Keeran, 34, of Monroe, on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws. Keeran was also charged with misdemeanor bail jumping due to a violation of bail conditions from a prior case and resisting arrest. Keeran was confined in the Green County Jail without bond pending a court appearance.
