On October 20:
● At 10:36 a.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident, with no reported injuries, at the intersection of 17th Street and 13th Avenue. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by David R. Papenfuss, 60, of Byron, IL, was traveling east on 17th Street, stopped for a stop sign at 13th Avenue, then entered the intersection and collided with a vehicle which was northbound on 13th Avenue, operated by a Monroe man. Papenfuss’s vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed. The other vehicle sustained functional damage. Papenfuss was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and released pending a court appearance.
On October 21:
● At 8:44 a.m., officers arrested Cody A. Kirschbaum, 37, of Monroe, in the 500 block of West 21st Street, on a warrant issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole for a probation violation. Kirschbaum was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.
● At 9:14 a.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with reported injuries in the 400 block of 8th Street. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Sam L. Nafzger, 92, of Monroe, exited a private drive on to 8th Street and collided with an eastbound vehicle operated by an 86-year-old Monroe man. Both operators reported non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by Green County EMS. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed. Nafzger was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a private drive and released pending a court appearance.
On October 30:
● At 5:38 a.m. officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries at the intersection of 9th Street and 20th Avenue. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Patsy L. Huseman, 63, of Monroe, was traveling west on 9th Street, stopped at the stop sign for 20th Avenue, proceeded into the intersection and collided with a vehicle which was northbound on 20th Avenue operated by a Monroe woman. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed. Huseman was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and released pending a court appearance.
On October 31:
● At 12:05 p.m., officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of West 21st Street. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jorge C. Gomez Chavez, 28, of Freeport, IL, on charges of battery and disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws. Gomez Chavez was later released pending a court appearance after posting cash bail.
On November 2:
● At 12:47 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of 2nd Street for a report of an assault. An investigation resulted in the arrest of Juan Rojas De Jesus, 31, of Monroe, on charges of battery and disorderly conduct. Rojas De Jesus was booked and released pending a court appearance.
On November 7:
● At 7:40 a.m., officers arrested Nicole E. Harding,36, of Monroe, in the 1400 block of 22nd Avenue, on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff’s Office for three (3) counts of delivering illegal articles to an inmate. Harding was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
● At 7:42 a.m., officers arrested Kole A. Figi, 31, of Monroe, in the 1400 block of 22nd Avenue, on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff’s Office for delivering illegal articles to an inmate. Figi was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
On November 9:
● At 9:59 p.m., officers arrested Jacob A. Christensen, 43, Cedar Falls, IA, following a traffic offense stop in the W5400 block of STH 11, for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of Delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinols (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Christensen was also cited for speeding. Christensen was released after posting cash bail pending a court appearance.
