On September 9:
● 6:22 p.m. Deputies responded to E Prospect ST, Village of South Wayne for a Disorderly Dispute. As a result, Joel D. Knebel, 36, Madison was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Strangulation. He was brought to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked.
On September 11:
● 1:59 a.m. Stanley K. Smith, 68, Darlington reported striking a cow on STH 23, Darlington Township. Smith reported no injuries. Smith’s 2007 Honda received functional damage and was driven from the scene.
● 5:59 a.m. Sarah Hesselbacher, 38, Scales Mound reported striking a deer on CTH O, White Oak Springs Township. Hesselbacher reported no injuries. Hesselbacher’s 2022 Ford received functional damage and was driven from the scene.
● 7:57 p.m. Eric B. Erickson, 62, Browntown reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. Erickson reported no injuries. Erickson’s 2017 Hyundai received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
On September 13:
● 5:27 a.m. Robert F. Hollatz, 58, Barlett, IL reported striking a cow while driving on CTH KK, Gratiot Township. Hollatz’s 2011 Ford received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Gratiot Fire, Gratiot First Response, and Green County EMS assisted.
On September 14:
● 4:20 p.m. Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS responded to CTH F, Darlington Township for a UTV accident. Kyle A. Brunkow, 44, Darlington was southbound in a 2025 Polaris on CTH F and attempted to turn into a driveway. A 2025 Toyota, driven by Greg A. Schulte, 65, Darlington attempted to pass the UTV and struck it. As a result, Brunkow was arrested for operating a UTV while Intoxicated - 2nd Offense and was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released to a responsible party. A deputy and Darlington Police Department assisted.
