On December 30:

● 6:18 a.m. A deputy responded to Prairie RD, Seymour Township for a one vehicle accident. Luis Y Rivera-Aleman, 30, Mineral Point reported striking a dog on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Rivera-Aleman’s 2019 Honda received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 7:20 a.m. A deputy responded to Mineral RD, Darlington Township for a one vehicle accident. Luis Y Rivera-Aleman, 30 Mineral Point slid off the roadway due to the ice and came to a rest in the ditch. No injuries were reported. Rivera-Aleman’s 2019 Honda received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

● 7:31 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Benton Township for a one vehicle accident. Heather L Morrisard, 62, Benton slid off the roadway into the ditch due to ice on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Morrisard’s 2007 Chevrolet received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

● 7:47 a.m. Deputies responded to CTH O, Seymour Township for a one vehicle accident. Michael L Gleason, 84, Shullsburg left the roadway, entered the ditch, and struck a pole. No injuries were reported. Gleason’s 2006 Dodge received moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Shullsburg Fire Department assisted on scene.

● 4:53 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH M, Wiota Township for a one vehicle accident. Keith J Seiler, 91, Woodford was traveling westbound when he left the roadway and entered the ditch causing the vehicle to rollover. No injuries were reported. Seiler’s 2018 Toyota received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Woodford First Response, Woodford Fire Department, and Argyle EMS assisted on scene.

On December 31:

● 9:59 a.m. A deputy responded to Beebe RD, Benton Township for a one vehicle rollover. Derek J Adams, 20, Cuba City was driving a garbage truck when it came into contact with ice causing the truck to rollover. Adams and his passenger, Justin D Leslie, 42, Hazel Green were uninjured. The garbage truck received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Benton First Response, Benton Fire Department, and Hazel Green EMS assisted on scene.

● 5:41 p.m. Joshua J Soper, 26, Cuba City reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. No injuries were reported. Soper’s 2012 Ford received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

● 5:41 p.m. Waylon V Palzkill, 21, Belmont reported striking a deer on CTH G, Kendall Township. No injuries were reported. Palzkill’s 2021 Chevrolet received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

On January 1:

● 3:14 p.m. A deputy responded to E Milwaukee ST, Village of Argyle for a hit and run.

On January 2:

● 12:09 a.m. Pamela R. Wymore, 62, Shullsburg reported striking a deer on Riverside RD, Gratiot Township. Wymore reported no injuries. Wymore’s 2020 Chevrolet received functional damage and was driven from the scene.

● 5:42 p.m. David A. Olson, 40, Argyle reported striking a deer on STH 81, Darlington Township. Olson reported no injuries. Olson’s 2007 Volkswagen received functional damage and was driven from the scene.

● 5:44 p.m. Jeri L. Akins, 59, South Wayne reported striking a deer on S Holland RD, Gratiot Township. Akins reported no injuries. Akins’ 2018 Nissan received functional damage and was driven from the scene. 

On January 6:

● 5:09 p.m. Eric J. Stauffacher, 31, Darlington reported striking a deer on CTH D, Fayette Township. Stauffacher reported no injuries. Stauffacher’s 2020 Chevrolet received functional damage and was driven from the scene.

● 11:01 p.m. Benton Fire, Benton First Response, and Hazel Green EMS responded to CTH H, Benton Township for a one vehicle accident. Charles R. House, 65, Protivin, IA was traveling on CTH H when he failed to maintain control, left the roadway and came to a rest in the ditch. House was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the accident. House’s 2024 Chrysler received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. House was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI - 3rd Offense). House was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains.
